Why pitch to Harper?

With Hader in the bullpen. wow.

Smoltz said it. If you bring him in there its a 6 out save and then what about tomorrow.
also, if you pitch around Harper and walk him , JT is on 2nd and a single ties the game.
Suarez did make his pitches though(except the last one)had him 1-2, Harper not chasing the changeup was the deciding moment. Suarez did paint that fastball, just didnt get it low enough or high enough. -
If Hader comes in and gets 3 outs, you have 7,8,9 hitters for the 9th. Bring in someone else for the 9th. The season was on the line and Padres lost with their best bullpen arm not throwing a pitch. That's poor management.

I agree. Maybe you don't have any options for tomorrow but at least you have a tomorrow and you are back home. Several managers made some odd decisions like that... I'm looking at you Scott Servais. Sometimes the obvious answer is the right one. If Hader blows the lead, at least you went out with your best.
And dont get me started on Pete Carol not giving Beast Mode the ball!!!!!
