Phillies over Cards and Braves?
Pads beat LA?
Cleveland up 2-1 on NY?Even though my birds were embarassed, it is good for baseball
-
The next round of the PS program needs a moment, "pitch 17 scoreless innings without allowing a run".

Um, I am not sure what you are asking for. These teams will be part of a postseason program when they either get eliminated or win it all. I have to assume that the longer they last the better their cards will be.

It already exists. It is called the 2022 NLCS

How is it good for baseball? And Cleveland and NY are even at 2-2 now. (I know you wrote this earlier) It is good for the teams that won, but not for the teams who played 162 games and came in first place. I don’t believe they should have made a 1st place team play the WC round. But, what is, is. To be honest, I didn’t think any team had much of a chance against LAD. Let’s see how the rest of these playoffs go.

I agree with you. I didn’t think the Reds had a chance against Oakland in ‘90 but they swept the A’s. In ‘06 the Cards tripped and fell into the playoffs cuz Houston lost on the last day of the season. Then got hot and won it all. You just never know.

True. Washington Nationals were a WC when they beat the favored Astros in the WS. It was a fun series to watch. Verlander and Cole vs. Scherzer and Strasburg. My point was I didn’t think it’s fair that the Cardinals and Cleveland had to play the WC round, even though they came in 1st place. I do give Philadelphia a lot of credit, but I don’t think they should have been able to compete in the playoffs. I would say this makes it easier for the team that wins the AL; however, I also thought LAD were going to just run over everyone. As they say, that’s why they play the games.

I mean they did get to skip a round. I get what you're saying but if I'm given the choice to play the Mets or Cards and risk losing and being eliminated or taking a week off to go bowling. I'm going . Still, it is amazing how the wild card teams seem you do so well. Momentum is so huge in baseball. A week off proved to hurt the Braves and Dodgers and possibly the Yankees.
I think it's good for baseball to see a different series but yeah, not so great for the teams that won 100 games and are out already.
Baseball is a wild west situation hahaha.
What's your team again?

It has always been the team with the best record in the league played the wildcard time since they had the wild card. It wasnt until they added a second and third wildcard slot that it became a series.
Used to be best team from eastern and westner division played each other and then went to the World Series. Before that best team in each league would play in the World Series.

I think St. Louis should have been in the NLDS. They are changing all the rules of baseball again next season. I guess because HRs were down this year. Maybe if they add another team to the WC it would be good for baseball, plus no first place teams in the WC. 2 best of 3 series, then another for the winners while the teams in first place get cold from not playing for weeks.
Obviously, I am joking about the adding a wild card team. I’m sure you know sarcasm, but in case someone else is reading this. -

I already know all this. But, the WC was used because of the 3 divisions. The first place team in the AL & NL faced that team in the DS. I know there are a lot of kids on the forum, but I play this game because I can no longer play the real thing. I don’t know if you were taking a shot at me or just thought I honestly didn’t know about baseball. Also, they still didn’t have the playoffs when the AL and NL were part of the MLB.

Purely inspired all of the "x innings is not a moment" comments. 17 innings would really shake the hornet's nest.

It wasn't taking a shot at you and I'm not a kid. Since around 69 they have had the championship series. Before that top team won the League pennant faced each other in the World Series. There has always been "playoffs" cause even the World Series is considered playoffs cause it to decide who is the best team that year.
