Hey Chicago whaddya say, them Cards gonna lose today!

To be fair it wasn't just him as I think most people who saw that swing assumed it would be a HR. I did.
And it may very well be that he is a playoff cursed player for both teams but he has only played in 7 post season games and only two of those for STL. I am willing to give him some more games before I come to a verdict.
And I think that we both have to admit that he is a big reason why the Rockies and Cardinals made it to the playoffs in the first place.

Yeah, no blame on Arenado solely. Goldy stopped hitting a month ago. None of the other bats looked even remotely dangerous until Yepez hit that HR and then they started to stage a comeback in the 9th. I really hope this isn't Pujols and Molina's last game but if is.....what a ride.

Arenado hasn’t done anything in the playoffs his entire career.
that Arenado bomb looked like it should have been 15 rows deep.there was 8 of them from both teams that would have been out but didnt even make it to the track with that wind

Goldy picked a TERRIBLE time frame to start sh*tting the bed

There has not been much positive to take from these two games. We actually outhit the Phillies 12 hits to 9 in the two games is about it..
Most telling is that our 3, 4 and 5 hitters went a combined 1 for 22 and left 13 runners on base in the two games.
The team apparently peaked in August and never really got hot again.
Congrats Phillies. Good luck against Atlanta.

Thanks.
Cards really fought back in those last couple innings, made em earn it. -
Mets hold on to live another day!
deGrom pitched gutty.
Diaz made two nice defensive plays.
Ottavino looked scared out there, but closed it out. -

Albert and Yadi deserved a better send off, at least they went out fighting. Goldsh!t and Errornado sh!t the bed HARD

Don't be that guy. Yes, they were disappointing in these two games, but without them we don't make the playoffs at all.

It is a bummer to watch your best players
go so cold but yeah, they are the reason the RedBirds won the division. Still to go from winning 2-0 in the 9th with Helsley on the bump to golfing on Ssunday is a tough swing. -

I honestly had both moving on, guess not.

Yup as expected, no credit at all to the team with the 3rd best record in the nl since june behind only the 100 win braves and 110 win dodgers, no credit to the ace that was runner up for cy young last year, no credit for the other ace that was 3rs in cy young behind degrom and scherzer who just a week ago PGd the astros for 6 and 2/3.
No credit to your own pitchers who kept the game at 2-0 when it easily could have been 5 or 6.
Nope they blew it, melted down, didnt come through.
Well thats not what i saw, i saw a ton of fight on both sides, incredible pitching that dominated, wind and temperature that really screwed the hitters on both sides, and a team that could have been 100+ wins if they didnt beat themselves as much as they did, not give in keep fighting and capitalize on an opportunity.
i then saw the cardinals also not give in and try and fight back after, in both games.
both played hard, both played like they deserved to win, but only one could. -

Not you, but others in the thread it seems thats how they feel.i am quite used to the phils being underestimated underrated and under credited.
the braves however wont do any of that, they are very familiar with the phils capabilites and will be prepared, it will be a great series -

both played hard, both played like they deserved to win, but only one could.Definitely not trying to take anything away from the fighting Phils. My buddy observed that this was payback for 2011 and rightfully so. They played the better game..but it is notable when our 2-4 hitters (2 of which will compete for MVP) went 1-22 and your closer sets a major league record for worst 9th inning meltdown. And Goldy was swinging at pitches 2 feet out of the strike zone. It's just disappointing and we're venting.
Personally I'm proud of my team for the incredible season they had. In my wildest imagination I never saw Pujols going off like this. It is a season for the ages the way he came on in the last 2 months and passed Arod, got to 700 and then 703 and then passed the Babe in RBIs. Amazing.
Props to your pitching. They really handled the Cards. And best of luck against the Champs.
-
I'm not discounting the Phillies. They won. Their pitching was excellent.
I didn't see the offense that I would like to see from a team that could make a deep run (from either team in this series). As I said yesterday they were actually outhit by the Cards in the series. The next two teams that they potentially have to face are those two teams who did have better records since June. I think they'll need to ramp things up to get past the Braves.
They did what the needed to do against the Cardinals though and that is all that matters at this point. So kudos are deserved.

Great comeback. Lazy day of BR and a Cardinal playoff loss. It's what dreams are made of.
Yeah cause the cubs are a fantastic team. Trash post trash attempt at trolling. Chicago sports fans are a joke

Told you Arenado isn’t cut out for the playoffs.
The Rockies made the correct move letting him go. 3rd base isn’t really a high value defensive position. You can get serviceable defense and someone that will get on base in the playoffs for 10 percent of Arenado’s cost.

So much schadenfreude in here.
