Hyper-Realistic (?) Injury - Yikes!

SDS

My RtTS pitcher was cruising in the top of the 5th inning in a recent game. With one down in the fifth, I threw a curveball which the batter popped up to an area just beyond the infield.

Every now and then, just goofing around, I'd jump straight up right as the ball was about to be caught. I won't be doing that anymore, as on this occasion the system interpreted the jump as a dive. My pitcher dove straight into the side of the mound, banged his shoulder on it and spent the next 60 days on the Injured List with a shoulder injury.

Oops!

There's no goofing around in Baseball!!

Classic! This is great. Reminds me of Triple Play 96 where if you accidentally (or deliberately) ran players into each other they’d collide and fall over and more than likely you would have an injury on your hands as the result. Wish I could find some vision of that.

Before The Show, I was primarily an R.B.I. Baseball player, but I agree that TP96 was really fun to play.

I remember making a SP 2-3 years ago for RTTS and in the first Inning of my first AA start (first career start of the mode), my pitcher throws a pitch (I think a FB) and he goes down with an injury! Off to the 60 day list and I immediately quit and made an RP!

Thinking about it just now, I remembered noticing a flaw in RTTS with regard to injuries. The flaw is that there are zero opportunities for advancement or training during the time on the injured list, which doesn't make any sense since many of the drills which come up every five days or so are mental challenges.

It would also be very good if there were some challenges relating to rehab, etc... including a few games in the minors to tune up after an injury.

SDS

They are trying to get rid of that playing around stuff. In years past if someone hit a routine fly ball you could run to the spot and leap up in the air or run a circle or whatever. Then still catch the ball. Now you cannot. Your guy will take too long to recover. This is good to keep all the goofing off from happening, unfortunately it effects legit game play from time to time. Just another way idiots hurt the game.

Really good idea, although they wouldn’t want to make it too interesting lest we injure our players on purpose! I really hope they implement rehab in the minors for Franchise and RTTS sometime soon.
