No money spent collections

How do you guys attack collections? Most to least expensive? One division at a time? Flip cards all day instead of playing the game? I really want biggio first. Packed yelich and selling him would help but I play really well with him. Interested to see everyone’s preferred methods for collections. I’ve currently got all buy orders in for commons and then doing all bronzes and so on.
-
Well I went after the AL East first since it seems to be lightest on your stubs this season. Then focus on getting some stubs for that Chris Sale since his price is plummeting because of his tommy john surgery. Yankees will take a while since Cole is an insane 99-100k but the golds are cheap. Jays and Orioles is cheap probably less than 10-12k for their whole collection together.

By waiting a month
Yep
Mostly
Both!Don't do it that way. If you're playing a lot, you're going to get a bunch of commons and bronzes through gameplay and awarded packs. And even though the season hasn't technically started yet, SDS continues making roster changes on their own. So by the time you finally buy the golds/diamonds you need, there may be a few bronze/commons no longer on the roster you didn't need to buy in the first place.
Do whole teams all at once.

I do cheapest first did all teams with no dimonds i flip the cards as a go commons have huge buy and sell now gaps im half way done i dont play a ton either
-
Cheapest first. I have only 9 left woth 40000 stubs left. Lucky pack pulls and flipping got me to this point

I agree with this strategy for full collections. I would also say if you want a specific player from a collection go for that one. I didn't specifically want anyone this year but last year I collected the Indians and Cardinals first since they had the only collection rewards I really wanted to play with (Lofton and Pujols).

Right. I didn't necessarily go cheapest to most expensive because I pulled both Phillies diamonds, Yelich, and Lindor, so I did those right away, but other than that ive gone pretty much in order

All I need to finish the collections for this year is the NL East and NL West. I bought the deluxe edition so with the 30000 stubs I started with I immediately bought equipment items and started to flip. I flip equipment cards via the show nation on my phone as much as I can. On a good day, I can make about 50-70K stubbs a day. The ratio of profit on equipment is much higher than trying to flip cards in my opinion. You can make about 2k a flip on some equipment cards and if you get a good ratio one, you can make as much as 10k on a flip. When I am ready to do some collections, I try and do all the teams in a division first. That way I can get the reward for the division and get the Stubbs as well. There is no right way or wrong way to do this, you just have to find a way that works for you. If you have the time and patience, flipping cards is the best way to get these collections done without spending money. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I guess my patience with flipping is something I’ll have to work on. I guess set buy orders and do something else is the best way to go about it.
-
I'm going to try and collect all the commons and exchange all my duplicates to get all the bronzes and so on for silvers and gold. Is this a bad method? I figure it might be a good idea since there won't be many roster updates tell the season starts
-
Don't forget to check the CAP collections section. You get maybe 20k extra stubs (don't know if anyone mentioned this yet)

My only diamond pull was for Cole and at the beginning I was thinking of selling him but a few days in he was only at 50k now that he is 90-100k it is very tempting to sell to complete some packs but I like to have him as he is the most expensive guy on the AL East collection.
-
I’ve only pulled Yates this year. I sold pretty much every card I’ve gotten in free packs or playing and saved up for trout. My rationale is at this point in the year he’s one of the best card in the game. If you wait till June you may not need him as much. And FoTF are better than most live series so go for one you can actually put in your lineup.

I've been doing the sliver to gold exchanges. That's helped me along the way. I have about 10 players left, but of course they're all expensive. Best pulls were Betts, Story, and Jose Ramirez.
-
I've only spent on the original price of the game and have pulled a few diamonds to help with stubs, 12-1 in events and a few BR runs that resulted in good stubs. I currently have 10 collections fully done, and the rest of teams have 30/40 needed. I've literally been doing a few players everytime I log on, mainly cheaper ones but then bite the bullet on the expensive ones (the 2k bronze card on the TB Rays, yuck). I won't be buying the expensive ones, Trout, Bellinger ect. Hope I pull those or get them in BR/Event runs. Don't depelete your stubs, keep a good balance. May take longer, but better to have some, then none. Long story short, I go cheap to expensive on all teams

Unlike previous years the gap between "buy now" and "sell now" is smaller. Seems to be pointless mostly now of flipping cards. I'm trying to be patient this year and let the free do most of the collecting for me. I only buy cards when needed to complete missions etc.

Is the silver to gold worth it? Without digging into the numbers too hard, I didn’t think it was worth it because of the inflated prices on silvers
-
Not even trying for collections this year unless I pack Bellinger. Then I'll push for it, otherwise imo it's not worth it. Mantle looks great, but he's not worth locking in over 1 million in stubs for. Besides, literally none of the team options make my squad right now aside from maybe Doolittle.

I never purchased sliver players, just exchanged whenever I got duplicates in random packs or team packs. It might not be worth it now like it was 1-2 weeks ago because of the prices dropping.
