I can’t remember back to EA baseball games but I do remember how different the two were in gameplay. Which means we’ll have to juggle that again.
I was thinking the same. Plus if MVP was ever rebooted I'm sure it would have some sort of DD mode. I could see a situation where The Show has certain legends and then MVP would snag certain legends. Like we all look forward to Mantle, but it would suck if EA poached him.
I know competition is good, but I hope we don't see MVP for a while.

Yep, original poster is trolling as there is no confirmation of anything regarding MVP Baseball.
Considering that the last MVP game came out 17 years ago I question how many of the players on this forum have actually even played it.
Kind of like the guy that claimed he’s played every madden since day 1. I played the original John Madden football in 1988, still have my copy. I doubt many others around here have.

I disagree.
Also EA has a bad rep.
But MVP Baseball will be on GamePass so I may try it. I still prefer The Show though.
Bad rep or not this is a good thing. Competition is important to hold feet to the fire for business to not take for granted their product OR their customers.
I wish madden had competition
2K is set to release a new game next year I think. They are branding it as arcade-style because EA holds the right to NFL simulation football.
Problem is, Maddens isn't true sim football.
It's an animation-based mismatched clusterfluck to the nth degree 🤪
It's not Simulation, it's Simps-mulation.
I would eat fried bird poo before I play that travesty again!Oh, I agree 100%. I bought Madden 22 last year hoping something would be done with franchise since the devs said it was such a priority. I've maybe played the game for 2 hours and deleted it my PS4.
I honestly think whatever 2K puts out marketed as "arcade" will be a much better experience than Madden and their "simulation" game.2K's last football game, All-Pro 2K8 played amazing, and had a nice stable of legends.
I have APF 2K8. Great game and soundtrack!
I've played Baseball videogames since Triple Play '97. Played 'High heat,' 'All-Star' with Jeter on the cover. 2K Baseball got a lot right, but wrong as well. Heck, even 2K Hockey was pretty good.
I wish we had competition for all sports videogames -

I wouldn't think twice about ditching the SDS brand. The only thing they have going for them is the game looks better than it plays.
Graphics have been cut and paste for 13 years now. Same game year in and year out.
Is there a link about the new MVP game? I've seen EA hasn't been approved by MLB for licensing. But only for an arcade type gaming. MLB seems to not want 2 games out there competing. I also read EA tried to buyout SDS but was turned down.

EA bought Super Mega Baseball last year. they will probably use the MLB license for that game. Just guessing.

Where have you heard anything additional? Last I saw they were shooting for 2024, at earliest, but that was announced last summer. I am more interested in College Football possibly being back in 2023 TBH.

There is nothing.google EA baseball and all you find is this thread and the article from last year that said EA was developing a next gen baseball game, but EA never confirmed or announced.

That's un American, Capitalism-wise, and dumb. We used to have multiple videogames for all the 4 majors. Now it's wrong? All this technology and all this talent out there to make games, but it produces 1 game for each sport?
I'm glad I grew up in a time when we had 'Gameday'vs.'Madden,' 'Triple Play/MVP Baseball vs. 2K, vs. 'High heat,' vs. 'All-Star Baseball. NHL 2K vs. EA NHL vs. NHL Face-off and NBA Live vs. NBA 2K, FIFA vs. I think PES Soccer.
It's a joke nowadays, like the world today actually. -

I hope this was sarcasm. Madden is a great game? I have played every version of Madden since day 1, they last 2 or 3 years the game has gotten progressively worse to the point where it's practically unplayable now. This was the first time in its history I didn't own it day 1, I waited until it was free on EA Play. I barely played it this year at all.
So strong with Supporters? Most people trash this game on both the main community forums worse than they trash SDS here.
The big difference is EA has exclusive NFL rights and has no reason to improve the game every year. They put 100% of their effort into sucking money out of us. I think I disagree with people trashing Madden on forums worse than here though if that's what you meant... the negativity here is worse imo... you could even go to both forums right now and compare, but I feel like the negativity here is worse. The only real complaint I have about the Show is how bad the servers are and how tough it is to enjoy online games consistently. I have zero issues online in MUT and I play that more online than this by a lot. It's good for any of us to have SDS and EA competing for our revenue though... makes them both have to put the effort in to keep their fan base from switching over. Hopefully this means SDS does better with the servers next year. I wish SDS could get NFL rights now and force EA to try harder with Madden going forward.

I see that as a good thing, there is no more monopoly in the baseball sim game but its EA. And if EA dares to get the exclusive MLB rights like they did for NFL, I will lose hope in the sport game industry.

....okay, but the truth is that this game had bad servers way before cross platform play. Anybody here says the problems only started last year is lying to you. It's even more critical for a baseball game to play smooth online because precise timing is the main skill involved. I play The Show, Madden, GT7, and NHL and The Show is the only one that I experience lag at all... so my internet is not the problem. EA just has better servers for their games and its that simple. My opinion on this is DD mode is better than MUT mode, but I believe SDS will take a huge hit in revenue if EA makes an MLB licensed game in a couple years and SDS sticks with their [censored] servers... because 100% guaranteed EA will have a much better online experience than what we are playing this game with right now. I will keep hoping that SDS figures it out before then and I don't even have to try the EA version. I'm not bashing SDS either, as I love this game, just pointing out what SDS baseballs demise will be if it isn't corrected by the time another company starts to compete with them.
