Yep, original poster is trolling as there is no confirmation of anything regarding MVP Baseball.
Considering that the last MVP game came out 17 years ago I question how many of the players on this forum have actually even played it.
Kind of like the guy that claimed he’s played every madden since day 1. I played the original John Madden football in 1988, still have my copy. I doubt many others around here have.

I remember playing MVP when Manny Ramirez was on the cover. Great game. With that said, if you have been playing Madden Ulyimate team the last few years you know that it is a complete [censored] show. They can't release anything with out screwing it up (no exaggeration). Also EA is completely pay to play. You can grind all you want and the grand reward is a low elite that you can't even put into sets to earn a better card. Everything operates on real money at EA and their game play still is filled with glitches. They have 4 times the staff as SDS but still can't put out a good game. I'm not saying gameplay on the show is great but atleast I can't get every card without spending a dime.
Yea this pretty much sums up the EA experience. You used to be able to field a decent squad in madden going nms but it’s impossible now. From the arduous offline grinds for pitiful rewards, to having a different currency for every program, to packs that can only be bought by using real money it’s pretty clear that EA’s main goal is to milk every penny from their player base. Add in coin sinks like power ups and x-factors/superstar abilities if you’re not spending real money or devoting your life to the game it’s tough to build a good team.
I’m not saying that the show doesn’t have flaws because it does, but I started playing DD in 2017 and one thing that SDS has done really well is made it pretty easy to obtain any cards you want just by playing the game. It would be great for them to have some competition to push them a little but anyone who thinks EA is going to step in a create some vastly superior product after not making a baseball game for nearly two decades is kidding themselves

I am an old timer too and played Madden since the day it was released. Played it across many platforms as well. From my Commadore 64 to my PC's Limited DOS based pc which later became Dell. To various other Windows pc brands such as Compaq and Packard Bell, which no longer exist. To eventually consoles such as Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3,4 and now 5.

Yay EA sports presents MLB the Show lol. They are going to clone this. I loved MvP baseball 2005 but if you think EA will do better you’re crazy

Nope. Madden 22 is a very well developed game. Looks great, plays great, MUT is full of interesting content.
You must work for EA. EA is the much bigger company with much more resources that is capable of producing a better game than SDS. However, EA is stiffled by a huge corporate structure that only cares about profits. They could care less about customer feedback or fixing issues within the game as long as they are making money. You can't honestly say Madden 22 is a well programed game. This year they basically stopped content in MUT before the superbowl.
You just explained the SDS model.

EA hasn't made F1 pay to win, but couldn't in a racing game. I think.
They have a My Team/Career mode, and co-op season mode, but no pay to win.
I think they'd do excellent if they made Baseball again. They actually made F1 better, believe it or not. -
No info on a new MVP game, I searched and found nothing. EA did announce NCAA Football is supposed to release around July of 2023. I have high hopes for that game, if it fills 1/4 of them I will be thrilled.

It's way too soon to even care about any of this stuff. A lot of talk about vaporware

I disagree.
Also EA has a bad rep.
But MVP Baseball will be on GamePass so I may try it. I still prefer The Show though.
Bad rep or not this is a good thing. Competition is important to hold feet to the fire for business to not take for granted their product OR their customers.
I wish madden had competition

2K is set to release a new game next year I think. They are branding it as arcade-style because EA holds the right to NFL simulation football.

Graphics have been cut and paste for 13 years now. Same game year in and year out.
Also wanted to tag this comment in particular, the reason graphics haven't improved is because they're still really good. SDS hasn't committed to the jump in generation yet, but expect it in 2023, will probably be the first time we see true new gen visuals.
Not with the Switch in the fold; no way they’ll have two engines. If it were just cutting PS4/X1 I’d agree, but Nintendo changes that. And the way the frames drop this year on PS4, they won’t upgrade fully next gen.

Trying to research this, came across this top 10 list published 2 days ago…

EA is in, SDS not…

Problem is, Maddens isn't true sim football.
It's an animation-based mismatched clusterfluck to the nth degree 🤪
It's not Simulation, it's Simps-mulation.
I would eat fried bird poo before I play that travesty again! -

I mean, competition is a good thing. Remember MLB 2k? I had fun with that
I can’t remember back to EA baseball games but I do remember how different the two were in gameplay. Which means we’ll have to juggle that again.

I would eat fried bird poo before I play that travesty again!Oh, I agree 100%. I bought Madden 22 last year hoping something would be done with franchise since the devs said it was such a priority. I've maybe played the game for 2 hours and deleted it my PS4.
I honestly think whatever 2K puts out marketed as "arcade" will be a much better experience than Madden and their "simulation" game.2K's last football game, All-Pro 2K8 played amazing, and had a nice stable of legends.

You just explained the SDS model.
How is this the SDS model? Seriously, I'm not seeing the correlation. I have not spent any money on MLB the Show, I have LS completed and 13 of 15 sets done for Brett. I have the stubbs to finish the set but I refuse to pay 120k for bench warmers just for the Awards and Takashi set. So tell me how is that just like EA and Madden. In MuT I have a 98 overall team that I dropped close to 500 bucks on( yes I'm ashamed but I own it) I only have one GT player on my team and have 50k coins left from doing Rookie Premiere sets. The only way to obtain more RP tokens is to buy packs with points that cost real money. So how is SDS and EA alike? Please drop some knowledge on me.

I was thinking the same. Plus if MVP was ever rebooted I'm sure it would have some sort of DD mode. I could see a situation where The Show has certain legends and then MVP would snag certain legends. Like we all look forward to Mantle, but it would suck if EA poached him.
I know competition is good, but I hope we don't see MVP for a while.
