Hit a homerun with Goldy. Okay. First pitch slider down the middle. Power swing. Perfect/perfect flyball to dead CF. Not a no doubter. Defender runs to the wall. Jumps and makes the play. Mission failed.
And then no more than 2 minutes later, i'm sure you completed it. What was the point of this post?
Yes I did, not even 2 minutes later actually. The point is that moments are so weird that it's actually quite funny. Have you ever hit a slider in real life? I'm gonna go ahead and say no you didn't. Even Tony Gwynn will no doubt homer a slider down the middle on a powerful swing, because of you know.. physics. Goldy against a LHP with that pitch in that location and that swing, and still being able to get robbed.. that's hilarious. I thought most people would understand this and I didn't really have to explain, but I'm glad I could help you a hand here.
Well, you got me there. In my thousands of at bats from high school through college through independent ball through competitive mens leagues which I play to this day.....not once was I able to get a hold of a slider. Still haunts me to this day....thanks for bringing it up.
If that's all true, then you'd know that a hanging slider that you see and hit with a good launch angle will always leave the park. Unless you're 5'7 and weigh 110lbs.
And your reply to Mr. Tri-City and all of his playing experience cough cough is exactly why I have the Jack Wagon Blocked.
Carry on.Aw. Imagine being so soft on a public forum you have to block someone, especially considering the worst possible thing I’ve probably ever said to you was a difference in opinion. No wonder this country has gone to sh*t
People like you might have something to do with that.
If you can’t handle some disagreement on a forum over a baseball video game, I can’t imagine when real life comes knocking. Best of luck fellas
I mean this post of mine wasn't all that serious, it's a very light subject that I bet many of us can relate to. And then you come in "WhAt'S tHe PoInT oF tHiS pOsT?". If you have nothing to add but negativity, why don't you just scroll along and hush? And then you don't get the reaction you'd prefer and you conclude that "no wonder this country has gone to shite". That's just.... weird.

Well, at least YOUR PP didn't die on the track.
[censored] LAUGHABLE.
Then, of course, there are rookie pitchers dotting or not throwing strikes. I've been walked 3 times already in the Grisham moment.
Hats off to you, SDS. Make us hate the game more, please.

Dear God. Do I have to point it out again? I got a perfect/perfect flyball. Which means that in real life, Goldy would make a perfect swing as well with a perfect launch angle. The stats that show here don't confirm either of those 2 things but they are the key factors for the result.
In other words, half of these sliders that show in the middle location of the plate could have been hit for weak grounders or too much underneath it for a flyout or whatever.

LMFAO - I’ve destroyed sliders too. They usually go straight to the middle too.

I got a first pitch slider as well, down the middle. I was just late. Deep to CF, he jumped and barely missed it. My ball was more juiced than yours, obviously.

As a matter of fact I'm fairly confident that every single major league player will crush a hanging slider right down the middle out of the park IF (key word here people, IF) they get a PERFECT POWERFUL SWING on it and a PERFECT LAUNCH ANGLE (= perfect/perfect flyball).
-
Guys, it's a video game. Anyone bringing "real life" into this...well, no. SDS has trouble programming consistent results. A guy with 125/105 who hits a PP fly ball with no wind ON COMPETITIVE SETTING -- not simulation setting, mind you -- should be rounding the bases every single time.
Now I'm off to stare at more pitches 13" out of the zone in the Grisham moment. Good god.

Well obviously the key point here was that I hit a perfect/perfect flyball. I'm fairly confident that Goldy is actually hitting 1.000 on that pitch with a powerful swing and the correct launch angle, but please prove me wrong.
it's almost like moments are suppose to be annoying considering its ya know a video game?
It’s like some of you guys on here and trying to be in the next dumb and dumber film. Moments are suppose to be annoying? The Devs are actively trying to annoy its consumer base? Are freeze offs a thing the Devs added to annoy everyone as well? Maybe just get everyone to play a different game? PXP missions can’t progress mid game because they Devs want everyone to be annoyed? Its almost like ya know….they just aren’t that good at making video games?

....but if it's in the middle of the plate and in the middle of your pci...that isnt a perfect launch angle for a home run. Get a little underneath it with perfect timing for a perfect launch angle. A ball hit perfect is less likely to travel upward as much as a ball slightly early or slightly underneath. Slightly early and underneath the slider would have been a no doubter. I bet when you completed the moment... it was either slightly early or slightly underneath the center... right?

A "Perfect Flyball" would be giving it the perfect elevation for a homerun...a "Perfect Linedrive" would be perfectly squared with it being at an elevation near 0 degrees...and a "Perfect Groundball" would be perfectly chopping the ball into the ground...you know, a wormburner!

My man, I'll say it again. I had a perfect/perfect flyball. Yes? Perfect. Perfect. Flyball.

Moments are universally despised. SDS needs to slap itself and figure out other ways of doing things. 22 is stale and unoriginal, but it's literally the only game in town. I'll play it, enjoy it, loathe it...pure ambivalence.
23 will be a wait-and-see year for me. I haven't bought Madden in years, and The Show is next on the list. Hope they turn it around next year.

OP did not say perfect flyball. If somebody says right in the middle of the plate perfect/perfect... that sounds like dead center of the PCI to me, which is not perfect launch angle for a home run.
