Since I’m not good enough to make WS ranking I’m going to try and grind out 300 innings. Wish me luck.
I may really hate RS and baseball at the end of this.

I'm near 700 but won't get much higher than that. I'm grinding innings with the new program guys to earn XPs. I'm sure my opponents are somewhat confused by my lineups. "Why does arvcpa have Mazeroski leading off? There are so many better options".

This is what I have been doing and since I am already resolved that I'm going to lose the games fly by cause I'm not stressing about the game.
Got so much xp in my 3 games last night from getting the pxp guys done and that nice 5k xp pay for 50 innings. The xp drops at 200 innings and beyond are unreal totally worth the grind even if you lose
-
I find that when I resolve that I am going to lose half the time the game is more enjoyable.

I tried to grind as much as I could and got to 40 innings. It felt like 400 inn.

I'm keeping my "eye on the prize". Once I get Takashi Maddux, I can get Ruth.

I cant wait to get my hands on reggie.

Shouldn't be that difficult to get to if you pace yourself and have the time. Think you can average like 14 innings/day and still make it if you haven't started.
I think the biggest issue will be if they all count. Last time I played rank a few days ago I only got like 15 (i think) innings even though I played 2 games ...one that ended in 9 (i was home) and one that ended in rage quit top 10 (I was away) so I should have been at 18.
As weird as it sounds, might be less painful if you go into it with the mindset of not caring how the game goes. Try having fun with it like team builds or using some weird cards you'd never use. If you haven't done any missions for the flashbacks in the program you can make a full team of those guys and earn some PXP along the way. Good luck.
-
Agree with others who have said its so much less stressful knowing it doesn't matter if you win or not. I'm grinding for that Maddux card to, which will then get me Ruth. So far its actually been really fun. I'm getting smoked once I get above 700 but it's nice that it doesn't matter.

The game will not track inning after 9 inning so really the extra innings are point less. Unless you are going for world series which I am.not I just quick out.
Also it seems if you make a pitching change in yhe middle of an inning that inning won't count

I tried using those guys for 3 or so games in event and couldn't get anyone out. Good pitches too on the black. Said [censored] it, 1,000 xp isn't worth it.

Hrm. Thats kind of whack. I mean, I was playing to win since its only like rank 500 but I guess thats their way of preventing people from exploiting innings by just trading innings. The whole switch a pitcher in the middle inning makes no sense...the entire box score still totals 9 IP (and yes I know the old missions don't give you credit for less than a full inning).

I sold quite a few pieces last week to get Ohtani and finish the AL. Took about a day to regret that. Ohtani and Frank are both useless. With Frank online, I have to swing as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hand and I may be early or good. Can't stand that card already on the bench.
So yesterday I did what I should have. I sold a bunch of cards and bought all the Takashi except Maddux and got Ruth. I mainly play RS, then events and BR. I would rather play with Delgado and Ruth then sit on cards when I am a zillion miles from Brett anyway. Not even sure I'll be playing long enough to get him as I am getting more and more frustrated with the game anyway.

Yeah the capping on innings as per 9 a game seems like they are preventing inning framing which makes sense cause I have been around long enough to know there would be games that last 300 innings with no hits and no runs
The ability to track 1/3 of an inning on pitchers has always been an issue and and WHT inning is tired to that is unknown, if that is the case its never been confirmed just my spectualion

Feels like your speculations are correct. I cant check my current innings numbers since I'm not on my console but I checked the box score from those two games.
First game that went to the top 10 before guy rage quit I threw 9 innings, each pitcher started and finished the inning.
Second game: Opponent walked it off bottom 9, so I only had 8 IP total. Manoah went 6 full, Clase went 1.2 and Hader threw 0.1. Cishek got the L bottom 9 on walk off HR to the first batter.By the logic presented, I should have 15 innings total since the 0.2 from Clase and 0.1 from Hader shouldn't count. If I only have 14, then they might wipe out all innings by a guy who doesn't finish (which is suuuuper whack).
