How good are you with Pinpoint??
-
I'm horrible with it and it seems like the better I do with it the more errant the pitch

I’m terrible with it still using pure analog
Might go back to it offline
That's me. I try using pinpoint in Conquest maps, and it's a cr@pshoot every pitch for me.

I would imagine regular forum goers would probably be better than average, but still if you respond please be as honest as possible.
Give a rough percentage for perfect/good/everything else.
Terrible with it. I bounce between Ppp, analog and pulse lol
-
Tried it once or twice but ive never actually taken the time to practice with it.
-
Tried it a few times in practice mode and my pinpoint looked like an etch a sketch, so I’ve stuck with pulse all year lol
-
I spent the last two weeks learning it. I’m getting decent, I definitely find pitchers with longer windups are easier to control.
-
I’m pretty good at it; only problem is when I pick X and forget it’s a sinker or slider instead of 4FB and I start the pattern the wrong way
Edit: I noticed the first pattern preview they show is usually too fast; move L stick and wait for the pattern to repeat, then it’s accurate
-
I'm typically 90-98%/ .002-.007early/late /0-3 inches off. I'm typically worse with splitters or inside changeups.
-
I'm surprised to hear so many people struggling with it. I asked because I'm normally a pulse pitcher and very happy with it, but I have a new setup with a much better response time and less input lag, and while I can now hit MUCH better I can no longer pulse pitch. I guess I was so used to unconsciously making up for the lag that I just can't use it like this.
So I'm all torn between trying to re-time pulse, meter, which I hate, and trying to force myself to use pinpoint even though I'm dreadful with it. I never thought pitching would ever be the harder part...
-
I’m really liking it once you get it down your pitches actually go where you aim, besides splitters being a pain in the [censored] it’s pretty goood
-
Still doing fine with meter. Tried PP for a bit and didn’t seem too difficult but I Just like to pick a pitch and go with it and not have to focus on different shapes to draw lol.
-
I can't draw so ppp isn't for me

I'm garbage at pinpoint.

Last year I committed to it fully. It is the only way for me now. If I concentrate I can throw perfect 25-50 percent of the time.
-
Didn't buy 21so 22 is my first year, and I got thr game at end of April. So I'm not exactly a seasoned vet. I would say I am now getting perfect 45% of the time. There are a few moments my brain goes back to analog days and screw up completely, but most of the time I am getting close. The hardest part is that release timing, every pitcher is different and sadly I feel like that's the part that will hurt the most when off. It's also rough that if you don't get everything perfect it won't be in PAR and it's impossible to predict where and how far out of PAR it will be.
My opinion is that if you want to play online with PPP, you had better be perfect nearly every time, or you are going to get rocked.
I don't play online, but I use PPP because it's fun.

Insert 50 Cent first pitch gif here...

I haven't taken the time to really learn how to use it. I played with it a bit but went back to meter.

I thought everyone was a master as I get my life dotted away by everyone I play.
So did I, that's why I'm a little surprised by the results...
The reason I've always liked pulse is because, even though it has a comparatively large PAR, I was 95% perfect and 5% good, so nothing was EVER wild. But now with this stupid game mode on the TV it's more 50/50 with the occasional early.

I want to use pulse but it makes me dizzy. Ive tried to switch several times but its like i just got off a ride at sixflags. pretty disappointing.
