Patch Notes Wrong?

I still thi k @the_dragon1912 s suggestion of having R2 have no effect on the pitcher is the best answer. I've barely ever faced anyone quick pitching so I don't think that is as big a problem as people make it out to be so I can deal with it the few times it happens. This way we can still see the pitch history/pitch types and speed but also still need to be at the ready and doesn't put the pitcher at any disadvantage or drag out the at bat.

Once per pitcher would be dumb. So if you leave a pitcher in a ranked game for 7+ innings I'm only allowed to check pitch history ONE time? The main issue with R2 was people tapping it to mess up the pitch which shouldn't happen now.
You have a pause button. Use it.
Yes; pause: go to stats, pitching stats, select team, then pitcher, then hitter, then current or previous AB. Rinse repeat for every hitter . That’s less annoying and time consuming than R2 for both players.
You have a game limit on pause time to stop that. In actual baseball a batter doesn’t get to see pitch history they have to remember it. They really just need to get rid of R2 entirely, as 99% of people use it for griefing and nothing else
Real players don’t have to remember how a guy pitched to 9 different batters and I’m almost positive someone is tracking that during the game for guys to review before there next PA

Update after reading this thread, I am now practing my accuracy with PCI lock without R2 so i'm not part of problem!

Yep. It should be once per at bat

Ok, so now the R2 abuser that is upsetting you once every 50 games is going to go into quick menu or pause the rest of the pitches in the at bat. Thats better?

700-850 or so when I actually play RS. I haven't played much if it this year tbh. But the toxic players are mostly in the mid levels of RS and BR and events are completely random whether you get one or not. The players that go out of their way to be toxic are almost always not good at the game, its just more annoying than anything
Yeah, that's what I figured. I played mostly events and RS in 400s, 500s, & 600s. So I usually had more bad experiences than a lot of the people who post here who are far better at the game then I am.
No big deal, saves me money not to have to have PS plus.

This is a good thing! People can press it long enough to set thier PCI Lock without disrupting the game. While still alleviating the quick pitch. Well done SDS
PCI lock doesn't have the same effect as R2 and wasn't why this change was made. Also quick pitching is a nonsense excuse used by R2 users to justify being toxic 98% of the time
Exactly. It’s a video game, there’s no such thing as quick pitching. It’s impossible to do.
-
Should be able to press R2 as much as you want to see pitch history and repertoire, but it should have zero impact on the other player and not prevent them from pitching.

When’s the last time an MLB player pulled an iPad out during an at bat and the pitcher had to sit there and wait for him to see what pitch he just looked at?
You should NEVER be able to see pitch history DURING an at bat. It’s an at bat, after or before sure. In a 3-2 count? You gotta be kidding lol.

I didn't say PCI Lock had same effect. I said people use R2 so they can lock it it in to the zone. As far as quick pitching being a nonsense excuse, well that's your opinion but there was a pretty heated debate about it last year and i think the way they balanced it this year shows they do pay attention.
Goes two way then Quick pitchers saying R2 spammers are toxic is a nonsense excuse for quick pitchers being mad b/c SDS alleviated the exploit of quick pitching problem that plagued for so many years.
People spam R2 when there are no runners on base. Its impossible to "quick pitch" when no runners on base. If you are talking about wuick pitching as people balking with Kenley Jansen than I can agree on what quick pitching is considered. But people that actively cry about quick pitching most of the time just aren't good hitters and need 35 seconds to think about what pitch to flail at rather than being in the box ready to hit
Ok i'm not sure what's being considered "spamming?" I use R2 every pitch for sole purpose of setting my PCI and once it's set i release. So if people are doing it after a pitcher steps off or disrupting timing then i agree it's not necessary. But if that's the case then this update should prevent that while keeping people who use it for PCI in mind. So i still say a balanced in between solution imo.
You can set your PCI anytime. If the pitcher starts his motion it doesnt prevent you from locking your PCI.

A real batter has 4-5 PA a game. Innings between plate appearances and more time between pitches. They do not remember the pitch sequence for every hitter in the lineup. Humans can’t do that. Lol right back at ya.
And again, I’m not arguing for R2 spam in its current state. I despise it. I argue that it should have no effect on the opponent by making them unable to pitch. I’d imagine that would be a welcome change for most.

absolutely mate - i can't even understand why its in the game - press start if absolutely necessary but not during pitch sequencing

There are scoreboards all over stadiums that tell what the pitch is and the speed after every pitch. Jus sayin

yes, because it wastes their pause time and they could screw up and forfeit

Then people will complain about the game being delayed by the pause timer usage and will riot until it’s reduced.

You get 3 minutes of time and then some more added back. The pausing is already the absolute worst and most toxic part of this game. I played 15 online games yesterday with 0 R2 spammers. About half of my opponent’s abused the pause menu though. Some were probably off baking a cake and posting on instagram, others were pausing so much there should have been a seizure warning.

Just for you Noobs that just don't understand how this game is setup. Some people myself included have fielding on manual and we pause game to setup defense per batter it takes a little time to do.
If anything they could add 30 more seconds to it for those that do manual fielding. But threads and posts from people who are in to big of hurry need to stop making suggestion that potentially could make game worse. Please for the love of god stop and think about the overall effect some of these suggestions will do to the state of the game FFS!!!!!
