I believe you’re right. No way they would have half of the player base, or more, play at a disadvantage. It wouldn’t be fair IMO.

As apposed to what they a currently doing? You are correct that the availability is garbage, but they are in between a rock and a hard place. On one hand they keep making ps4 games with fast load times and slap a ps5 sticker on it, and [censored] off the ps5 owners. On the other hand they start making games for the ps5 ro compete with the current market, and then the ps4 owners get upset.
They will go with the ladder. The ps5 is the future, the ps4 is the past. If they don't get a move on more and more people are going to switch the Xbox.

Part of the problem is availability. You can’t just actively walk into a store or buy a ps5 online.

I just read the patch notes and I gotta say looking at the exact words they used.. they're not confirming anything. All they said is "fixed a bug that prevents matchmaking while 120Hz output is enabled". That could mean they just reverted to 60Hz. Let's see what actually happens.
Nah I think 120 hz will work. I mean it’s already enabled for offline play so I don’t see why they would have to revert back to 60 hz being that Xbox plays online at 120 hz. I think the issue was just as they said, the bug was with matchmaking online with 120 hz mode on not necessarily playing at 120 hz.
I hope I'm wrong and we will find out soon.
I would put money on your observation being 100% exactly what we are going to get: a patch to fix loading into games, but not to allow 120hz online.
If it was to allow 120hz online I think it would specifically say that, and it doesn't.
This is exactly what I thought when reading it. The way I understand it is we can have 12 Hz enabled for offline and don't have to go turn it off in the PlayStation 5 settings just to go online. It will just revert back to the old 60 hz. I'm already disappointed. I know that is what it's going to be.

It's not about upsetting anyone...it's about sales ..the sales of the game will be low if you limit it to the small amount of people who have a PS5

Are you sure lol? Because it appesrs thats exactly what they've been doing for the past year. Allowing xbox to have an advantage over playstation.

It’s already not fair for ps5 owners. I don’t wanna turn crossplay off because I wanna face the best of the best on both consoles. What’s the point of even having one if we can’t take advantage of the power. They can’t wait for the majority of the player base to have a next gen console while Xbox has had it since 21. Anyone would feel the same way if they had one.
