Man, 18 is the notorious one that everyone hates yeah? Bummer that this year is being compared to it. Last year was my first year playing DD and while a lot of people noted the gameplay was bad, as an offline player, the content was fantastic. This year seems to be far less enjoyable. The fact that for many, Mini seasons are unplayable and there's just not as much to do in conjunction with all the complaints of bad online gameplay, it's a shame.
i’m not big on cpu modes and typically don’t care much abt the content. it’s pretty unfortunate to be hearing negative feedback abt even the offline modes bc the last couple years people have seemed to be quite happy with the content.
Yeah, I imagine based on some of the comments that you're a veteran of this game and a highly competitive player so after a while I'm sure cpu modes and content can get rather boring. But for newer players, it's a shame that they cut back so far on these things. If Mini Seasons worked it wouldn't be so noticeable.

Not really. Bad pitch recognition/discipline was punished in every game before 18. From there it went downhill.
DD ruined this game in my opinion, when it was only online franchise stick skills mattered, I lost a lot of games when I was in my first season lol 26-136, but 3th season I made the playoffs, we played with legend settings, then DD came along in online franchise was gone within 2 years
But my point was that online franchise didn't had that [censored], it was fun to play, I my opinion DD doesn't come close to what online franchise was
To many people play cheese ball and this rng thing just isn't fairI don't care if I win or lose but losing unfair sucks balls

Just going to add my two cents as I'm trying to be less toxic.
This game IS fun if you go into the matchup knowing that anything can happen and your w/l record, era, and/or batting avg is just a number and doesn't mean anything outside in the real world.
Does it have flaws? Yes.
Is it perfect? No.
Can it ever be perfect? No. And I mean that because one person's 'Perfect' is different than another person's 'Perfect'.
If you have that mindset and just realize that's it's a video game and don't take it serious; you can have fun playing it.
And if you're not having fun playing it; then don't play it. And using 'it's the only baseball game out there' excuse is just that; an excuse.

This sums it up. Gave up a VERY early HR to Olson earlier. Meanwhile, my Mullins hits 2 balls almost dead center of pci for routine fly balls. Won some games, lost some games but off for the night. Ball is a blur. Can't read any pitches.
The ball is blurring because of laggy connection from the other opponent's internet. Just keep playing until you get good connection with a local server.

Just played a game where I had to a of good contact hits, other dude fouls everything off and hits 12 slow rollers for hits that seems to be followed with HRs on pitches off the plate or on ones he has
