Ranked Seasons 400 Inning Reward
-
I used to do the 30 or 40 win thing every season last year and get the reward card/cards. It usually took me about 10 or 15 hours. Many people would quit out quickly and give me the win, or I would quit out and give them the win. That respects everyone’s time.
It seems they have now turned this into a grind-fest by requiring 400 innings played. Ok. I get it. They don’t want people quitting. Makes sense.
Has anyone figured out the time commitment to play 400 innings? I estimate that 1 full 9-inning game takes about an hour, give or take. I’m not great at math, but 400 divided by 9 is 44.44. That’s right. Instead of it taking 15 hours to get the ranked seasons reward, it now takes a minimum of almost 45 hours in a month’s time!! What normal human has 45 hours out of a month to spend in Ranked Seasons? Certainly not me. Won’t even attempt the reward when it contains that sort of time commitment.
-
Before last year it was make WS or you don't get anything. They could decrease the inning requirements to 300 or something but innings is still better than wins
-
The innings don't track correctly in the 1st place. I quit a game in the bottom of the 8th and was given credit for 6 innings.
6/7
6/8
6/9.....Makes no sense to me.

Or you grind and try to make WS and the time comiment can be smaller.

400 innings is a huge time commitment. No thank you.

You have no idea and to be honest the rewards aren't so great.

I expect them to adjust this based on results of this season. I recall last year with this and the BR program they adjusted the accrual stats after the first/second season of each to be easier.
BR win was 1 point per game, ended up being 2….mission stats got cut in half. So I think they go on the high side and scale back rather than the other way.
Definitely agree, 400 innings is wildly unachievable especially if the expectation is we’d play the other modes as well.

I also assume they will lower it, but I’ll still never do it.
And I think you meant 400 innings rather than hours. Those would be some very long innings!

I agree. They really miscalculated this! The entire game is a huge time commitment really. Lack of attention to gameplay is gonna catch up with them. Maybe this is the year they lose a bunch of faithful players. Every year they come up with fancy new card art to distract everyone from thier lack of attention to gameplay.

It is funny they start on the high end when the rewards are lousy, then cut it down later in the game when they are really good.....I think I have played 7 RS games and my opponent has only stayed until the end once. The rest all ended before the 6th, so this still is not working as far as keeping people playing

They will lower. There will be a few people that get the 400 innings but not near as many as they thought. I think I am 13-1 sitting around 685 or so and I only have like 78 innings or so. At my current pace (without actually calculating) I am guessing I would need to play 20+ games on legend. That doesn't seem like fun at all.
They really made it tough for people that don't want to spend money or flip on a virtual market. I have a team that I can make WS with but no where close to doing collections and I have 5k stubs right now. These next few days the plan is to get to 45 wins to get to the 10 or 20 pack (can't remember) and get to the reward on BR but I think I am only on 9 points there. I have had around 3.25 era or better in RS for most games except the year it wanted to gravitate balls down the middle. I am seeing some of that this year. I can't get anyone out in BR.

Honestly a very good solution to people tanking.

I’m perennially NMS and think it’s gone well so far this year for me. I definitely benefitted from grinding my CAP the first weekend, though. Lots of diamond equipment and exp rewards to sell before prices dropped.
My biggest complaints are the lack of DH and quality of life stuff like random rather than choice packs. Too early to evaluate gameplay, it will likely be adjusted much the next few months.

Working on my cap. I've made some mistakes in my RTTS grind so trying to correct them. I am now on the gold archetype think it is Duke. Didn't get the Tool Shed one.
I could sell all the players I can and I'm not sure I would be able to get Trout. Last year was the earliest I have done collections and I think it was 3-4 months. I used to be able to get a lot of 12-1 runs in the past but can't sniff it so far.

My catcher is using The Duke. I’m not sure I’ll use that archetype, though. The blocking is low. I may work on the fielding archetypes when the next featured program drops.
I suggest setting it to beginner and only hitting. I made the mistake of playing on rookie and going through all the defensive plays the first day.

If the entire game is a huge time commitment, then they haven't miscalculated at all. The WHOLE POINT is to increase engagement.

Yea but this is something people are deciding not to engage with. I’m certainly not.

Edited to correct; my brain has been wonky all day. Must sleep at a more reasonable hour!

I haven't played 1 RS game and I saved stubs and bought Willis. No sense of even trying because I won't get to WS and I don't have the time for 400 innings. I don't need WS collections anyways other than having fun offline and selling for a profit down the road.
