No PCI when using Timing?

To answer #2. It's RNG. Everyones favorite 3 letters. The pitcher pitches and a Dice is Rolled based on H/9's, K/9's, BB/9's. And depending on what mode they're using will effect the outcome. PPP will have a better chance at a higher roll. Pulse (We'll Disregard Classic) will have a lower chance at a higher roll. The batter upon swinging will have a dice rolled based on his various Hitting attributes. Contact, Vision, etc. I'm going to assuming that the "Timing" of when they press Swing affects the chance at increasing how strong there "Dice Roll" is. The higher dice roll wins. Now, the result of this matchup is going to be another Dice Roll as well to determine the Outcome of the previous dice roll. A pitcher can still win and the batter bloops a bleeder over someones head or squirts one down the line. The hitter can still win and Rocket a 105 liner right at a guy.

Haven't tried it but my guess would be since the pitch speeds increase the timing window shrinks therefore making it slightly harder. Still will never be as tough as zone but I don't think on the high difficulties against top players people will get consistent wins with timing/directional.
Yeah I’m not concerned about playing against top players with it. Just curious as to how this thing works. It feels like a handicap if your not good with zone. I’m currently in the 700’s and have been using Timing for a couple days now. The hit outcomes are random as heck but so they are with zone.

The results are really random.
Going from BR game to BR game is comical. Since the games are three or less innings you can feel the difference.
One game I can put up 5-10 in the first inning forcing a rage quit and two minutes later in the next game I’m hitting weak choppers and cans of corn.
Have they ever described this new interface and the mechanics behind it? It’s just whatever I guess. The entire game is pure randomness regardless of which hitting you use. Just interesting to me that I can be on par with my zone hitting while using something that requires half skill/effort. Timing is cheesy to me.
its basically what analog was. thats it, dont need a tinfoil hat on, the best players use zone because zone you will get the most user controlled outcome as possible.
Please don’t start the whole tin foil hat thing, there’s no need to go there. I’ve been using Timing for a couple days and can share my experience with it. It seems overpowered for how easy it is IMO.
I'll try it out tonight, if i'm wrong i'll share, I still think any top player is going to be using zone. Zone is the most user based outcome, not random.
I’m gonna have to disagree with you. Even with zone, your going to get random outcomes. Non PCI hits are still rampant while 3 consecutive good/good can be 3 consecutive line outs. There’s currently no rhyme or reason to hitting….and hasn’t been for years.
i'm not trying to come off as an a$$ i just cant see zone hitting not being the most OP, like with zone yiu have the capability of hitting anything with the Pci. Timing is basically just analog with a different name.

The ai places the pci for you with timing. It's there, you just don't get to see it. This I'm 100% sure of. The placement of the pci is likely based on timing and player stats.

In the previous "Pure Analog Hitting" you had to flick the right analog stick up: Left, Middle, or Right, based on the location of the pitch. The new "Timing Hitting" does not have that requirement.
In previous game versions, the timing windows for Pure Analog and Directional Hitting were shortened, as compared to Zone Hitting. Not sure how the timing windows work this year.

I use to use it all the time when we had knuckle ballers. Played most on HoF. Never paid attention to flick at a certain direction. Then again never really knew where the KB was gonna be. But it worked.

Good point.. I remember switching to PA and Retro Cam while trying to hit knuckle ballers in the past, with little better results I think. It may have been just random luck though, in that regard.

It's because there's flick, which is weird and counterintuitive, or stride, which I use from time to time when my timing is off with buttons, where you go down then up.

They may have got rid of PA because the right analog stick did not seem very responsive or consistent to user input for the L, C, or R upward direction. I eventually switched to Zone with Analog (instead of buttons) a couple of years ago... which btw, helped with check swinging last year.

Why not? It’s all randomized outcomes so technically if the numbers go in your favor, you could put up a fight at least…with half the skill and effort of those top players. That’s kinda my irritation with an interface like timing. Due to how random this game is, anything can happen.

Which is what happens when "the PCI does not represent the bat".
Obviously the PCI has never really looked like bat, but in '15-'17, the center dot of your PCI seemed like the "sweet spot" of your virtual bat. Now, the PCI does not seem to be as important as it used to be... as it is just "the area where the hitter is looking". Whatever that means.

Are you going to do good if you put the PCI on the ball consistently, yes, you’ll score runs. But for the last 2 years, maybe even back further, you don’t even need to have the ball in the inner PCI to send a jack out of the stadium. It makes no sense, if the goal is to put the inner PCI on the ball, why is the game rewarding you for doing the opposite? No rhyme or reason at this point.
I also don’t understand the “where the hitter is looking”. I thought I was controlling the hitter and where I look, he looks. So if I look at the wrong spot, why am I sending nukes?
