Has SDS gone full Madden mode

It seems like they cut down heavily on programs and ways to earn free cards this year. Am I wrong?

They did cut back but Madden still shouldn't even be in the same sentence as The Show.

Way too early to say that, but yesterday's stream definitely gave a bad impression that they're heading down that road. Bad enough that I decided not to order. I may pick it up a few months down the road when it's on sale if I still have the itch.
The worst decision IMO was making the first six FOTF cards you can obtain no choice/no sell. I don't want to grind a program and end up with a card that I have no interest in.

You also can't do showdowns repeatedly to advance your progress anymore.

Well the game feels totally phoned in this year, so we're getting close to them being in the same sentence.

Also quicksell values were cut big time. I thought they would do this. last year was the year to get all the new Xbox players addicted to the content. Now they can pull the reigns back and push for more stub sales.

Personally I disagree, I think the gameplay is a lot smoother and love the idea of mini seasons. If you aren't enjoying it tho then who am I to say you're wrong? Difference of opinions

The gameplay is def smoother, cant deny that. But I do agree they are going the Madden route with their in game currency and ability to get cards

That's all fine and good. But this game is a giant step towards pay to win and the show has never been about that. This is disheartening.

I don't see that. Maybe I will later but I don't see that as being the case right now.

I am seeing alot of hurt feelings because SDS just wants you to play the game to get your cards not breeze through exchanges and showdown. Yes sure you can pay to get collections done today but where is the fun in that. I have had 5 great hours on this game and Jake barely made a scratch on the content available.
Change is good let's embrace it if we look back in 2 months and things go the other way them yes let's have that discussion but nothing right now say SDS is in anyways making thing more pay to win maybe more play to win but isn't that the point

I don't see that. Maybe I will later but I don't see that as being the case right now.
The new qs values are going to [censored] alot of people off. A player jumping from gold to diamond no longer qs for 5k. Last year we immediately had a ton of team affinity packs we could unlock from day 1, gone. There were 3 team affinity conquest with hidden rewards, gone. Unlock all team affinity players, gone- now you have to buy most of them. And I'm sure someone more involved could list more things.
I'm still playing but you can't say they haven't took lengths to insure we get less for our time spent in game.

They literally put more than half on team affinity 1 behind a pay wall.
While Also making it harder to earn stubs on the market.

I'm curious how many people that dislike the new system also complains about God squads at the beginning of last year. I'm not saying it's everyone, there are some legit gripes but from most of what I've seen whether executed correctly or not they are trying to listen to the community.

I think the complaint last year was not that the team Affinity cards were to easy to get, it was that they were to strong. The ta3 csrds were better than almost all of the live series collection rewards except chipper. I honestly could care less about how many of the boss cards you can unlock through the program. I'm more bummed about all the packs we aren't getting from team affinity this year.
Last year each division would give you like 40 team affinity packs and 7 blah pack. That's alot of content missing. Wouldn't you agree?

I am not a fan of god squads but I think there will still be god squads, people will have to pay for them though, at least to get them early, no more easy NMS god squads, that is the complaint as I see it regarding a move towards pay to win
