Feature Premiere - Road to the Show & Ballplayer

I appreciate the better agency you have over your ballplayer, the fact that you can simply pick what role and position your ballplayer will be rather than influencing it through choose your own adventure questions.
The layout looks cleaner and I think the player programs will be better now that you need to do RTTS to complete them, not a combo of DD and RTTS.
I do hope XP is good in DD from RTTS

Does this mean that the ball player is no longer tied to DD? I may be in the minority here, but I liked that you could progress by playing either mode or a combination of both.
-
Saw that it states Ballplayer can only be upgraded through RTTS.
Does this mean that there will no longer be a CAP in DD?

I assume that ballplayer will be able to be brought into DD but that the only way to his base attributes is via RTTS. They still want DD players to chase after the diamond equipment and perk cards and such.
The actually specifically mentioned that some perks/features were available in RTTS with your ballplayer but not DD. The specific example was the ability to throw a Knuckler.

So if they're combining CAP and Ballplayer again, like they did this year, and you can't upgrade your player in DD; then that would mean you would HAVE to play RTTS to have a decent CAP in DD.
Considering you would probably start out as a Bronze again; you would have to upgrade that player in RTTS to get a Silver, Gold, or Diamond CAP on your DD squad.
Unless they bring back the old CAP Programs.

That's what it looks like, however, they did make it so you can work on multiple archetypes without having to start over every reward path. You can also specify the role and position at the very beginning instead of having to influence it based on your answers and play on the field. Lastly, the rewards and perks looked like they added a lot so I'm sure that'll add to collections.
You can also create up to 10 ballplayers without having to start a brand new load. The interface looks a lot cleaner and more streamlined.

I don't want to watch Joe Mauer's video, I just want to see my character talk to Joe Mauer.
All I want is a game, not a documentary. -

prove to everyone that DD does not get the majority of attention from the developing staff.
I don't think they are claiming that DD doesn't get the majority of attention. It pretty clearly does, and if you asked them they would say so.

Seems like a step back to me. I liked that you could progress both ways. They should have fixed the progression instead of removing it in DD.

Last year they said it was a foundation, and based off the reaction of how they implemented it shows they had to go backwards in order for what they have planned moving forward to work in the future. Unfortunately when something new rolls out you have to get a good sample size to determine if it's good or not.
This case seems majority didn't like how it was implemented. Which in turn forced thier hand to revert or reimplement the idea before moving forward with other ideas being implemented at a later date. I understand the frustration. But SDS has always fixed pressing issues before moving forward with new features and since they said it was the foundation last year, it only makes sense to get foundation right before building on it right?
Anyway i've been with this franchise a long time and i'm sure they want same things in the mode we do it just takes time. Personally i would rather see it done right and not half @ssed!!

But what I'm trying to understand is if you can't technically build you're player via DD and you have to do it just via RTTS; won't that cause some people to just abandon that option?
In my opinion RTTS is Moments Light. And unless someone finds a way to exploit the progression, like they did multiple times this year, people won't waste time playing this mode when you can get just as much progress, if not more, just playing DD.
But I could be wrong.

I think you will still be able to use CAP in DD, Just progression will be through RTTS. You will still get eqipment through DD and packs and via market to also help shape your player. Some people will be happy just getting perks through the market. Imo it evens out the market place a lil bit in terms of what people post.
For instance DD "only" players will have the luxury of making majority of stubs through selling players, whereas RTTS "only" players will earn perks and equipment at a faster pace allowing them a chance to make stubs on the market.
And everyone will earn certain rewards that you get just playing the game, players, perks, and equipment. So it evens out from my viewpoint. My experience people who create a player generally dabble in RTTS a lil bit anyway. But people who buy the game to just play RTTS or Franchise don't want to be forced to progress through DD.
