If you truly listen to the community, then for 2023 get rid of the video narrative. It adds nothing to gameplay in RTTS. If you took a poll you would find the vast majority of RTTS players skip through them. Replace it with better player/agent interaction. More immersive on field action, such as removing batting gear after reaching base. Use the extra power and memory in the next gen consoles for better use and prove to everyone that DD does not get the majority of attention from the developing staff.
I may be one of the few players who doesn't mind the grind and doesn't want to hurry my player into the majors. I just miss some of the things that used to be in the game, such as spending time in college to improve my stats. It loses some reality to be 18 or 19 and playing in the major leagues. And as someone else posted elsewhere, why does my player, no matter my stats, always start off batting third. Manager AI needs some adjusting.
In both RTTS and Franchise I am seeing this error message ( Operation Failed 0X8007000E) when I try to load a saved game or even save an on-going game. I realize this is somewhat moot since I will be playing 22 in just a few days but was hoping someone could explain this to me. Thank you in advance for the help.
After playing a handful of games this new year feels different, and in a good way. Animations are better, commentary is much better (yes, there are repeats, that is going to happen but will improve) and the changes made are good. It was fun to see someone from the stands throw out the first pitch. And one of the best changes was to game flow, being able to have the option to pick quick show my player, watch full game, or show game sim. Was disappointed this wasn't an option last year and glad it is now.
Could there be improvements? Of course, there is always room for improvements. I am disappointed that I can't go to college for 1 to 4 years to improve stats before being drafted or at the least change my starting age. Still would like to see my player remove the protective gear after reaching base. I'll survive.
All in all it is a step forward and have no regrets getting this year's version of the game.
Same here. I created a new ballplayer, or so I thought, at a different position from my current player, a SS for the Giants. The new player was supposed to be a RF who was drafted by the Rockies. But the clubhouse scene showed my player in AAA for the Giants. Went to the roster and he is in RF for the Rockies AA team, then all of a sudden he is in AAA with no announcement or meeting with the manager, yet the clubhouse scene is still in Giants AAA. Lots of bugs to be worked out for the next patch.
The stadium announcer will sometimes just give the first name and sometimes say the full name. Also, the umpire will say "Ball four" when it is a swinging strike making the count 3-2. Other umpire miscalls. Is anyone else experiencing audio glitches?
Does anyone know why, if you want to be a pitcher in RTTS, your only choices are starter or closer? Why can't we choose to be a middle reliever? I would consider a pitching career if I could be a reliever.

I was just unhappy to see them put more effort into the video narrative While you may not like the video narrative, I highly doubt that their effort in adding more narrative in any way takes time or effort away from the improvements or changes in the actual mode. Seems like they have their own little team to write and film the videos separate from the gameplay designers and programmers.

I understand that and agree with you. I am just thinking of the memory space it takes up that could be used for other things.

If you went into that livestream yesterday expecting a massive overhaul of the game mode, your expectations were unrealistic. These games take years to overhaul and they just did it last year. We are going to have the ballplayer system for the next couple of years at least, that's just the nature of the development cycle. Expecting more just sets yourself up for disappointment. The best we could hope for is that they would tweak and refine the ballplayer system a bit to make it work better and add some Quality of Life improvements. If you went in with those expectations, then I would say it was a success, at least on paper.
I agree with you. I was just unhappy to see them put more effort into the video narrative. Is there anyone who actually listens to all of them without fastforwarding?
I was happy to see them return to picking your style of player instead of forcing you to both pitch and field, at least for your first few games in AA. They did not say but I hope as a fielder you can pick at least two different positions, such as second base and shortstop. And it is also nice to be able to create more than one player from scratch once again.
I don't expect extravagant changes, but small things like being able to call my agent when I want to, and maybe even having a choice of agents, would be nice.
Anyhow, I have preordered and am anxiously awaiting April 1st.
The problem I am having with my Series S controller is playing second base. On a steal attempt I push the joystick to run to the bag, my player takes a couple steps then just stops. No problems with any other position moving to the base they are covering, just the second base man.
If it comes to PC I will sell my Xbox Series S. RTTS and Franchise is all I play anyway.
