Is anyone else having issues with SOTS? I'm playing on a PS4 Pro and have set up my downloaded songs to play between half-innings but I only get the default music. I submitted a ticket but of course have not heard back.

SOTS on my PS4 Pro is not working. I spent a day loading songs, editing and assigning to all the AA teams but none of the songs play between innings. Walk up music works but nothing else. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone else even still use SOTS?

For me, Franchise needs a one pitch/one result option, at least for the manage only mode. This has been a staple of baseball management games since Strat-O-Matic. With a one pitch only option, I could watch the game being played and it would only take a half hour or less. OOTP does this and it makes playing instead of simming more fun.

@halcyonfrost I agree with you. It was all about having options to create a player the way you wanted. You even had the option of going to college to earn skill points instead of being drafted right out of high school. On a purely cosmetic point, the clubhouse scenes would change to show different viewpoints and weren't static. A small thing, but I liked seeing the clubhouse from different angles.
-
@PAinPA I agree it is possible and has happened many times. I also understand that many players like to start at 18 to give their player more time in the majors before retiring. I just like having the option that allows everyone to play the way they want to play. Sometimes I will sim a couple of years in AA with a player with no perks and bonuses to their attributes so I can start at an age I want to be. Just a different way to play the game.
-
Yes! I have wanted this brought back ever since they took away the option to go to college. At the very least, give us the option to change our age when we create a player.
-
Since it is optional then it's no big deal. What I resent is being forced to play a certain way, such as not being able to spend training points any way I want or having to start at age 18 and not being able to go to college for up to 4 years or changing your starting age when you create a player. Options are good for everyone.
-
Does anyone know if this year they are bringing back the option to go to college for 1 to 4 years? Or at the very least, have the option to change your age when you create your player? To me it's unrealistic being 18 years old in AA and by the end of the season possibly being in the majors. Make college or age setting an option so anyone who wants to start as an 18 year old can.

What the hell, SDS!!! Every time you do an update all of the work I have put in editing my downloaded tunes in Sounds of the Show disappear. It takes hours to put 3 stops in each song and then assign those stops to ends of innings for all the teams. Why can't you update the rosters and leave SotS alone? Your programmers are lazy.

Thank you, everyone, for your help in this matter. Tandil1368, your suggestion worked for me, thank you.

Thanks for the advice but that did not work for me. I am playing on a PS4 Pro. I created Bob (a 1B) to run an experiment. I saved Bob with the save menu accessed in the clubhouse. I exited out of the game. Back in the main menu I loaded Fred (a CF). On the PS4 you press the button with the square. Fred's name was now Bob and Fred's overall 70 with 4 perks was now a 63 with 2 perks, but he is still in AAA with the same team he was with before I created Bob.
-
Why is it that when I create a new player, save that player, then load the original player the name, stats and perks revert to the newest player created? Is there a way around this or is it bad programming?

Does anyone else feel like the call ups are too quick. I remember in the older versions before the archetypes, it was completely possible to win the AA championship and the next year get moved to AAA. It's weird to have every RTTS player be 18 yr old mlb starters.
I totally agree. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Bring back the option of going to college so we can start playing at 22. It used to be an option back when they had the Bowman Showcase that you could go to college for 1 to 4 years, making minor improvements to your stats each year. Please bring that back.

It’s the icons with a field logo on the right on drill name.
Thanks for the help. I see it now that some training is on the field and some is still the mini-game. I was under the impression all the training would be on the field. Wrong again.
-
Just to make sure I wasn't mistaken I re-watched the preview and sure enough, they said there would be on the field training this year. So where is it? Every off day I still get those mini-games (that I never play) to increase my stats. Please don't tell me this is only for next-gen consoles.
-
I have to take back that last part. I started a shortstop and he turned back to the infield after the outfielder threw past him to second. Glad that's been fixed. Now if they just have the runner pick his helmet up after it comes off when he steals a base. LOL
-
Those things would definitely be a plus. I would like to see more on-field immersion. Show the ball boy (girl?) bring more balls to the umpire. And show them fielding foul balls as well as a close up of a fan catching a foul ball. Show your player remove his protective gear after getting on base. Plus basic changes to stop your infielder from staring into the outfield and pounding his mitt after the ball has been thrown in.

The additions to franchise is was motivated me to get the game this year. I mainly do RTTS and play OOTP for managing a franchise but am looking forward to doing a franchise in The Show this year. I just wish they would do a one-pitch action option for people like me who only want to manage and not control players on the field. It would speed up the game when you want to watch the game play out but just manage.
-
Well, even though more than 200 people have seen this post no one has replied, so I will answer my own question now that I have the game. The answer is no. Even though during the draft sequence it says college is always an option you don't have the option to go to college to increase your skill level. A shame as I preferred entering AA ball as a 22 year old, not 18. I don't understand why SDS took that option away,
-
Does anyone know if you can still pick a team if you decide to go to college in the draft? The last time they made it possible to go to college you lost the ability to pick a team to play for. I'm too impatient to wait until the 28th to find out. LOL
