If you truly listen to the community, then for 2023 get rid of the video narrative. It adds nothing to gameplay in RTTS. If you took a poll you would find the vast majority of RTTS players skip through them. Replace it with better player/agent interaction. More immersive on field action, such as removing batting gear after reaching base. Use the extra power and memory in the next gen consoles for better use and prove to everyone that DD does not get the majority of attention from the developing staff.

How about being able to go to college for 1 to 4 years. Or at the very least, have the option to adjust your age so you aren't always 18 going into AA.

Any of them before they added archetypes and linked it to DD.
This. You have to go back a few years now but I actually liked just getting points, assigning them wherever I wanted and eventually having all 99's if I played long enough.
No archetypes, No equipment, no perks, no ballplayer.
And it had year to year saves.
I like the name brand equipment, but I could do without the bonuses they give.
And this is most likely blasphemous to everyone who wants to get to the big leagues as quickly as possible, but I would like to spend more time in the minors.
And yes, all the perks and archetypes just boost you to the majors faster.
The two-way player (batter/pitcher) can go, or make it an option but let me add a secondary position like it used to be.

Does anyone else feel like the call ups are too quick. I remember in the older versions before the archetypes, it was completely possible to win the AA championship and the next year get moved to AAA. It's weird to have every RTTS player be 18 yr old mlb starters.
I totally agree. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Bring back the option of going to college so we can start playing at 22. It used to be an option back when they had the Bowman Showcase that you could go to college for 1 to 4 years, making minor improvements to your stats each year. Please bring that back.

For me, Franchise needs a one pitch/one result option, at least for the manage only mode. This has been a staple of baseball management games since Strat-O-Matic. With a one pitch only option, I could watch the game being played and it would only take a half hour or less. OOTP does this and it makes playing instead of simming more fun.

I've downloaded the app but when I try to sign on it asks me to log in using Playstation, XBox or Twitch. I choose Playstation and the authenticating screen shows up with the spinning circle and goes no further. This has been going on now for almost 24 hours. Is it just a server overload or is the app not working? I want to use face scan but can't if I can't get the app loaded onto my phone. Can anyone help?

In both RTTS and Franchise I am seeing this error message ( Operation Failed 0X8007000E) when I try to load a saved game or even save an on-going game. I realize this is somewhat moot since I will be playing 22 in just a few days but was hoping someone could explain this to me. Thank you in advance for the help.

I may be one of the few players who doesn't mind the grind and doesn't want to hurry my player into the majors. I just miss some of the things that used to be in the game, such as spending time in college to improve my stats. It loses some reality to be 18 or 19 and playing in the major leagues. And as someone else posted elsewhere, why does my player, no matter my stats, always start off batting third. Manager AI needs some adjusting.

The additions to franchise is was motivated me to get the game this year. I mainly do RTTS and play OOTP for managing a franchise but am looking forward to doing a franchise in The Show this year. I just wish they would do a one-pitch action option for people like me who only want to manage and not control players on the field. It would speed up the game when you want to watch the game play out but just manage.

After playing a handful of games this new year feels different, and in a good way. Animations are better, commentary is much better (yes, there are repeats, that is going to happen but will improve) and the changes made are good. It was fun to see someone from the stands throw out the first pitch. And one of the best changes was to game flow, being able to have the option to pick quick show my player, watch full game, or show game sim. Was disappointed this wasn't an option last year and glad it is now.
Could there be improvements? Of course, there is always room for improvements. I am disappointed that I can't go to college for 1 to 4 years to improve stats before being drafted or at the least change my starting age. Still would like to see my player remove the protective gear after reaching base. I'll survive.
All in all it is a step forward and have no regrets getting this year's version of the game.

Does anyone know if Sounds of the Show will be coming back. That was one of the best features of the game. It was a lot of work editing and assigning music to teams but worth it to hear music I like play between innings.

Well, even though more than 200 people have seen this post no one has replied, so I will answer my own question now that I have the game. The answer is no. Even though during the draft sequence it says college is always an option you don't have the option to go to college to increase your skill level. A shame as I preferred entering AA ball as a 22 year old, not 18. I don't understand why SDS took that option away,

Those things would definitely be a plus. I would like to see more on-field immersion. Show the ball boy (girl?) bring more balls to the umpire. And show them fielding foul balls as well as a close up of a fan catching a foul ball. Show your player remove his protective gear after getting on base. Plus basic changes to stop your infielder from staring into the outfield and pounding his mitt after the ball has been thrown in.

Looking forward to seeing how they are going to incorporate starting in high school and then onto college. Will there be actual game play? Has SDS created new ballparks for this? I am just happy we will once again be able to go to college before entering the minors. I have been tired of being 18 and going from AA to the Majors all in one season.
