Couldn't even bother to really juice it up for the PS5 players. Same game recycled over and over and over.
This game needs a total engine overhaul, but that would mean the devs have to actually gulp work...nooo cant have them working can we

You're looking at wrong. It's not that the devs don't work. In fact they're probably being taking advantage of, and being nickled and dimed.
The fact is, there is no need for a company to invest its earnings into making a better product when dummies will poor money into the one they already have. The game has been broken and unfixed for how long? and the dummies dump millions into it for virtual nothingness. They;re taking advantage of human FOMO. Fear of Missing Out. I'm not sure the problem will ever go away. People are stupid. Sports gaming is dead. It's just a racket now.

I'm actually curious, enlighten us with what you mean.
Competition as far as having to make money to meet their margins, then yeah of course they have to make money.
Competition in regards to supply/demand? Theres no other companies making a product that will supply and meet the demands of a gamer/baseball fan.

This may be the first one I legit pass on, or just wait till late season when it's dirt cheap if we even get one

Once they drop the Ps4/XB1 we will see a bigger change.

Absolutely plenty of other games out there to play and plenty of other forms of entertainment to occupy time rather than play a game anyone finds more displeasure in than enjoyment. Can’t imagine hating a game so much that someone would follow twitch streams and remain active in forums

They do have competition - at least on gamepass. Another baseball game released on gamepass today. I will not mention the name as it's a competitor but , they do have competition.

If there was some way, ANY way to get a current/next gen update of MVP 2005 with updated visuals, the same gameplay and smooth defense...oh baby this game would have zero chance

Incredible? Those player models are pretty bad. And the players have no rigidity at all. Just smooth clay like skin!

It should be noted that developers do not have free reign to do whatever they want. They're constrained by higher ups...corporate/marketing types.
