He was before they took his sticky stuff away. But if they were to go with a Padres Player, Machado, Melancon and Musgrove were far more deserving.
Machado makes the most sense overall to me but I know he has that 97 Awards card. Or it could be someone who had a TA3 card. There are a few that got another high card (think Realmuto and Salvy).
If that's the case it could be: Kimbrel, Jo Ram, Judge, I don't know....Mullins?

I want Machado, Mullins or JRam. All three should get 99s before the end of the game cycle. Only a few more players out there that would really get me excited but those 3 could all be really fun. The player program is likely Shane Bieber who could be fun on pinpoint this year.

I don’t see Mullins getting an event award. We just got a Milestone Ripken. As much as I enjoy getting more high diamond O’s, I don’t see them giving another O that quickly.

Mullins had the worst arm among qualified CF this year, and also the worst arm among all 168 players that played enough innings in CF to have those metrics available. He was the worst in both ARM and rARM. He certainly doesn’t deserve to have a better arm rating.

Yeah. I know it’s unlikely. He doesn’t have a great arm but he’s a great player.

I bet he bowls with to hands granny style.
An Altuve card would be cool actually. He would have solid defense and would have lower contact but higher power. Would be different than his other cards this year and years past. Plus his LS and that TN card rakes.

I know you’re a Padres fan, but have you had success with any of his cards? Last year his finest was great on paper, but his swing was just not very user friendly. I know I am not alone on that.
I hit .350 with his live series early this game cycle. Even had him parallel 4. Mostly on HOF and some on all star.

If you look at his spin rates they never changed after the sticky ban. Once he went on the IL the first time he was never the same. Safe to say he played through injury most of the year.

It was such a bummer to see him fall off like that. I'm guessing you're right. Plus I don't judge the sticky stuff. Hitters have been given every unfair advantage since 1968. Some for the better of the game, some not.
I had season tix this year and saw Darvish a few times early in the season and he was lights out.
@ChuckCLC_PSN , that's a good point about Trout. We're there any other superstar athletes this year that either got hurt or didn't have a good card that also don't have a high diamond.
Yelich and Bellinger have their 99s as does Lindor, Bieber is most likely the player program tomorrow...I can't think of anyone else it could be like Trout but you're definitely right, there could be someone lurking.
Could we get the ultimate Troll job with a Trevor Bauer?

It'll be interesting to see if he gets to play this year, will they just sort of sweep it under the rug and give him a card? Same with Ozuna. I really don't see how MLB can hold Bauer back since it appears all criminal charges have simply vanished and Ozuna has already served his suspension. I'm not saying it's right, just curious how that'll play out.

Hmmm. All of those already have high diamonds. I guess most are still possible.
Except Altuve. His Topps Now was already an Event reward so there's a 0% chance it's him.

Oh yeah, that's right. Forgot he was an event reward. I can't really think of anyone active thats a star without a high diamond other than Bauer.
I feel like there are a few like Melancon and Musgrove they could get away with, but nobody is gonna be excited about those.

That sucks they made it last year’s Machado!! Maybe they fixed his awful swing. Would have liked 19 Finest Bregman. Don’t like either player, but Bregman’s card I played over Chipper in 19 and when they brought it back last year

That Parker card is going to rake, Turner could be fun as well, not sure about Machado yet but I'll obviously get him as well eventually.
