At what point do you call a card a dud?
-
My personal leash is about 200 ABs that I give them to stay in my lineup. Had to ditch Awards Mantle at .086 and most of the Postseason 99s in the .130s-.150s at that point.
Do you give them more or less ABs? Or a certain Parallel level? Or do you just wait until you have a different card to sub in?

A lot of the time it's not the card, it just doesn't work well with you.
People rave about Vlad Sr. I'm horrible with him. Just one example of many.

I love Honus! I'm not sure why but I just started using him.

I think Honus and Ohtani were the players that hit parallel V quickest for me. I haven’t used either one for a while now but I had about 100 homers with Honus great card.

Before answering this question I browsed this forum to seek the collective wisdom of the community. The results of my research: you call a card a dud approximately five seconds after looking at its attributes.
-
I think the hitter’s swing is part of it for me. Some swings are better than others. I slay with some, do okay with some, and then pop out to first base or catcher on others.
For example, Brett Gardner slaps the ball over the fence for me. Just shoots it like a missile.
Whitt Merrifield feels very choppy and weird. If I land on heads, he pops up. If I land on tails (my lucky coin side), I hit a triple.
Both are South Carolinians.

I like to give at least 75-100 AB, but some cards you just know they are a dud. I knew after 1 game Soriano wasn't for me

Maybe because Honus and Wander Franco are the two best SS in the game. I am looking forward to Tatis’ Finest though. If it is anything like his card last year, Wagner gets moved to second.

I used the Tatis card long into the game against the cpu.

He had a 99 POTM card in last year’s game. The card was a monster. Only card I want more is Griffey Jr., but if he is a collection I will be angry.

I usually know by around 100 - 150 plate appearances. It took me a while to get going with Mantle, but I hear a lot of people saying they are not hitting with him.

I couldn't hit [censored] with the new Seager card or Hank Aaron. But Mantle kills it for me, Chipper too.
