Most Specialty Cards has Attributes way Juiced up then the player actually deserves. Live Series are the only Cards that reflects how a player really is because it is influenced from how that player is currently performing in Real Life.

It is the "Finest" card, so the stats will be juiced to the max that SDS possibly can.

For this reason I’ve never been a fan of Finest cards.

I get juicing them and the contact numbers don't bother me much. Those power numbers are boosted way to much though, Finest or not.

I’d still prefer juiced finest cards over the juiced TN cards. Starting to feel a bit like the steroid era in the show.

This is also the reason I think it's funny that all of us argue over what the attributes of Jeter would look like. SDS would make them whatever they want them to be. If they can give a guy who hit 8 HRs 100 power, they could certainly boost Jeters power to 90-100 if they want.

That's what I've been saying. His early game cards would be 70s power, but his endgame would be at least 90

The difference is SDS doesn't juice legend cards almost at all. Just look at Pedro and George Brett

I get why they juice current cards, but it does seem like they disrespect legends a bit in the process, especially when cards are released simultaneously. Joey Wendle/George Brett a couple months ago, Avisail Garcia/Al Kaline yesterday.

That's not entirely true either. Look at Cobb last year or pitchers like Walter Johnson. They make exceptions for some players to make them more usable.

Walter I agree on but there is genuinely no way to know how hard he actually threw the ball. Cobb really wasn't all that juiced though. His career slugging% was .512. He just hit triples instead of homeruns when he played

With Big Train I'm more talking about giving him a sinker, and a change up. He primarily threw fastballs, and occasionally mixed in a weak curveball. They gave him a sinker to make him competitive, and gave him additional pitches as well. I'm not worried about his pitch speeds. If anyone should be complained about boosting a cards velocity, look at Cy Young.

With Cobb, I argued that he should be given high power exactly for the reason you gave. Usually, they don't equate SLG% strictly to power, but in some combination with true HR numbers. If it was just SLG% guys like Gwynn would have better power numbers attributes than Molitor or Yount.

They absolutely change or juice attributes to make some players more usable.

Yup. I think their ratings system or justification needs a major overhaul.

Its not slugging or homers( well, HRs do count a lot). They use iso pwr to calculate power ratings which is slg% - avg.
which is basically a slug pct that only counts extra base hits.
