I watched a bunch of the tournament games on twitch this weekend (while watching football on the tv) for the drops and what I saw from the elites confirmed what I have been seeing myself, gameplay is an absolute disaster right now. More bloop hits than line drive hits, zero pci home runs (reb had a terrible one against Weens), terrible baserunning (runners diving back to the bag on 2 out liners, etc), and obscenely op pinpoint pitching (especially with everyone exploiting the pci limitations that Mcgunski showcased).
We are at a point (since this is 2 years in a row of bad gameplay) where it is clear the game has moved beyond the abilities of the current gameplay team to fix and new programmers are needed if we are ever going to get the quality of gameplay to match the (amazing) quality of content. I can only imagine the fallout if someone wins the tournament on a zero pci home run.
Nothing like playing in a 12 hour tournament Saturday tournament followed by another on Sunday. What a terrible tournament. As bad as the gameplay.

Obviously there were a few. Just because you don't want to do it or see it as a waste of time doesn't mean others do too. I wouldn't do it either but who cares who does?

Potentially to have more RNG to give less skilled better chance.
I mean no average or ever good player will be an elite one, but when opponents are within a few notches of each other on the skill spectrum the guy a few notches below might have a better shot at the upset.

Yup. SDS is still running a business. When said business is largely made for online play/sales then you can only have user input matter so much or else they lose money with average and less than average joes trying to compete online.

I assumed this was what he meant, but you just never know around here. A lot of people feel differently about the way the game plays online and some completely disagree that RNG is involved. I don't disagree with anything you said.

SDS needs to get away from the pre-determanistic gameplay we have. it has run its course and it's no longer fun. PPP will likely get fixed next year since this was the first time implemented and we're essentially beta testing it for them. Everything else is just lazy on their part. Maybe with opening the game to Xbox users they have more cash to bring in more talent? SDS should care because they're going to lose me as a customer next year if this $h!t doesn't change.
I also watched 4 or so games Weens played yesterday and it's just sad seeing every single pitch low and away or low and in where nothing can be done. Just boring gameplay.

Well in all fairness, when I was younger I had a cousin commit suicide. This was someone I spent a ton of time with as a youth. I did not attend his funeral as at the time I considered him to be "weak". Obviously, I now know (and have for quite a while) that he was ill and I should have attended his funeral.

Anyone ever consider that maybe society is doing a disservice to people that have weight issues, addiction issues, depression issues…..by telling them it is a medical condition?
I personally believe that everyone has the power to overcome their issues by consistent action and discipline.
Is it possible that by giving people a built in excuse society is indirectly stripping them of their power to cure themselves?
