What is the thinking here? Another Jhonathan Diaz post

No, this is not a complaint about his rarity. I get that and have posted the reasons in multiple threads already. I have prompted people to put in their Buy Orders for 2,500 and be patient and wait their turn.
But there is one group of players I don't understand at all.
There are 10,514 buy orders for Diaz at 2,500.
There are 732 people with Buy orders of 2,499.
There are 47 people with buy orders of 2,498What is the logic there? Are they trying to save 1 stub? Do they not care when they get the card so they are purposely putting themselves at the end of the line? Do they just not understand the system and think that undercutting the 10,000 plus buy orders buy 1 stub gives them some kind of an advantage?

I was wondering about that also

Some people may have put in the orders and forgot about them. Could have been early to the show, no pun intended. It may not have started right at 2500, unless you’re there the minute the card shows up there is no way of knowing.

I would venture a guess that 779 players aren't sure how the market works
To elaborate: I wouldn't be surprised if half of those are trying to SELL the card at that price

That, to me, seems like the most obvious explanation.

Shouldn't the Buy/Sell logic catch that and tell them "A better offer is available"?
My guess is that they think they have "principles" and tell themselves "I refuse to buy a card at max price."

Not necessarily. Not many players have the market knowledge that we do. There is a large group of players that strictly use buy/sell now. Some players think sell now= quicksell. With these max stub cards it forces people to used orders instead of buy/sell now. They could be unfamiliar with it and just be doing it wrong. You could be right too, we would never know though. I myself have placed buy orders instead of sell on accident before

Stupid is as stupid does sir.
I have bought a ton of stuff this year at exactly quicksell price so def a lot of people who don’t understand the market or are extremely lazy and don’t care.

I will occasionally sell lower level cards to others for quick sell price since the difference is negligible and I may be helping them out.

Question :
As I have further collected items in the game I am only the 60 ovr Jhonathan Diaz card away from completing the angels collection allowing me to complete the series for the AL and get the 99OVR David Ortiz. I have been hunting for this card for days, does it not exist and or is it just extremely rare to get? Based on all of the sell orders I have seen posting there is a ton of people searching for him. Is this something that put in game to make these collections almost impossible to complete? Any info or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Ya but they'll be laughing all the way to the bank come February! Amirite?
-
The only thing that makes sense to me is that those 11k+ orders are from a handful of d!cks who want to make getting that Chipper impossible for these postseason events. Super petty, but I'm sure they're children so what's to be expected...

Oh he's definitely real, I've got two of him from just the regular show packs. Used one for my collection sold the other but here's the catch, ever since I've unlocked chipper Jones, I have not got a single diamond player card in any pack whatsoever and I've opened quite a few actually have opened a s*** ton and not a single diamond player. I've got diamond sponsorships, I've got diamond equipment rare but it's happened, but no joke I haven't got a single diamond player since I unlock chipper and I still have more diamond cards to get so I can get Kershaw. Kind of f***** if you ask me because before I completed my collection of live series players, I was raking in diamonds left and right out of all sorts of different packs but now it's like a ghost town so count your lucky stars you haven't got him yet, otherwise you be with me down here in tumbleweed
-
It seems the odds of pulling a Mike Trout from a pack 3 times is lower then the odds of pulling Jhohathan Diaz.

It doesn’t allow you to try to buy it for higher than 2500 stubs. You have to put a price lower than that if you are requesting to purchase. I have been hunting this card for months it is literally one of 3 I need to complete all MLB teams and get the 99 David Ortiz, The 99 Alfonso’s Soriano, and the Chipper Jones. I am convinced this card is not in the game to prevent the collection. Think about it. A 60 overall? Most times you get 2-3 60+ per pack. This many people searching for this card man I think rarity is out the window. This is them not allowing completion of a collection. It wouldn’t be the first time.

I truly do believe you on this bro but you are the only person I have heard get 1 of him let alone 2. Congratulations you break one part of the 4th wall and they stop you for another. If you get another Diaz look me up I’ll hit you with a diamond anyone for him lol
