Piazza VS Perez
-
Signature Mike Piazza Vs All Star Perez.
Who is the better all around catcher?
And if you had to choose between the two who do you pick?Me I personally like Perez better.
-
-
-
Perez has a great swing and if I remember correctly has a little better defense?
Have you tried the Topps Now Grandal? If you can get past his speed rating, he might just be the best overall catcher in the game and his swing is AMAZING.
-
Piazza easily
-
i only use Topps Now Grandal, and the Top Prospect Rutschman, lover their swings and the switch hitting. their defense is also better than piazzas for sure.
-
I've been rocking Pudge since I got him. I have all the other big name catchers but I'm rolling with him. Doesn't have the power some have but its def adequate. And that diamond defense and 70s speed puts him above the rest imo. No need to carry another catcher either because of the good speed and diamond fielding.
-
I do love HRD Salvador Oetez more than ASG and between the two, I prefer Petez though Piazza is a doubles machine.
I'm in the Grandal, Adley, Pudge camp. And don't sleep on Award Posada.
-
I believe in keeping advice to the question asked, so I'll answer:
If you can handle Piazza's swing, then go with him. If you can't, then Perez is a bit safer imo.
WITH THAT BEING SAID: Adley can be acquired free via TA, and would be my personal recommendation over both of them.
-
Adley is that dude.
-
Adley is the best catcher in the game.
Between Perez and Piazza, Piazza is better overall, but Perez is a GREAT bat to have off the bench as a pinch hitter vs lefties.
-
Adley > Posada > everyone else.

Grandal. When a catcher is literally one of my 3-4 best hitters, that makes up for other deficiencies.
Grandal is one of a kind - the only player who turns a gapper into a single.

Bro same. I mash with the 95 way better than the 97

Exactly, no idea why but the other day I had trouble with his Topps moment and was thinking, if this were his HRD card, I'd have completed it with 1 swing. Took me like 15 mins for a Rookie level HR.

I had a legit infield single with him in the event last night. That 4 speed rating at parallel 3 was the difference.

The 95 has better hitting attributes. Almost 120 contact vs righties. That’s why the top players used him in the tournament.

But he also turns a HR into a HR. His lack of speed is fine trotting around the bases.

I agree that Grandal is a good hitter but it’s almost all or nothing with him. He’s basically a liability once he’s on base, He sure as hell isn’t stretching a single into a double. The only time the dude can hit a triple is if the ball gets stuck in the fence.
