Two outs, runner on 1st, I hit into the gap. I stop at 2nd, while the ball is on its way back. Throw to home beats the runner, inning is over, and I get a single(!) This happens to me often in RTTS, and occasionally in Moments, particularly if I need XBH or TB. Why is this scored as a single and not a double?
Because the runner going to second base only got there because the throw was to the runner going home.
I'm pretty sure I arrive at 2nd while the ball is between deep and cut-off, not between cut-off and home.
IRL, The fielders choice to throw home creates a subjective call by the official scorer. Kind of like the decision they make between scoring a hit vs a defensive error.
