Replace Chipper?
-
He will likely float between LF and SS for me now that I have MVP Donaldson. I’ll take the defensive penalties for that switch hitting.
I’ve been using Brett recently for the AL Central and I am loving his card though I must say.
-
i moved him to the OF after frank thomas dropped and put vlad jr at third. im not sure if in the long run ill move him back to 3B or bench him, but for now i feel like my OF is somewhat shallow and i love both him and vlad jr to make room for them both
-
Chipper is amazing. I unlocked him pretty early and got him to P5 so he’s been on the bench for a bit now. I just can’t use a player all year long. Especially with so many options. My head also wants to use other cards once I P5 them, I can’t help it
-
I cant bat with right handers this year, only matchups that i can do are opposite hand. Specially against righty pitchers. It is very difficult to hit, averages for all my righty batters suck so i can only have a line up of switch hitters and left handers. Chipper can never leave the line up. He also cost me more than a million after completing all collection. End card for me.
-
I replaced him with Boggs because Chipper is P5 and I don’t care about having the best lineup

I’m the same way

I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion, but is anyone else considering this? I’ve done well with him and have at P5, but those vs. RHP attributes don’t look as good this late in the cycle. Brett, Boggs, Miggy, Vlad all look tempting. Might try platooning with Brett for a while.
Yup, definitely replaceable now with options like Vlad Jr, Honus, Minnie, and others.
Minnie? Not sure that dude is worth replacing Chipper for. We are talking Minnie Minoso right?
-
What everyone forgets about Chipper’s value is that he is the best switch hitter next to Mickey Mantle.

Yeah, maybe not the best replacement. I just have a soft spot for Minnie.

I moved chipper to the bench out a while ago.

Boggs is extremely good. As are sheffield and Brett. At worst you can sit chipper for a while and bring him back if needed. Chipper is probably the best option at 3B still, but you aren't going to be at a disadvantage using some of these new guys over him
-
I understand why people are in love with Chipper but I be completely honest I don't think he's the best 3B in the game. I've used him over 500 at bats and hes good but I think Boggs might seriously be better, Even though Biggs doesn't have as much power on paper as Chipper he still hits tanks, plus Boggs plays better defense and never strikes out,

It's home run or bust. As long as the defense is decent, power rules. But you go ahead and take Boggs, get a base hit with him and then watch him die at first, because you already got your hit for the inning.

I've been hitting nothing but bombs with Boggs. Also how long do you keep a guy in your lineup that isn't hitting as well as another player? Should I just keep him in there because everyone says he's the best or based off of performance? If we're going off performance then Boggs is better in all %s.

Lifelong Braves fan so regardless Chipper wont go anywhere.

All that means is you hit better with Boggs than you do Chipper. It happens.

I mean it's hard not to use Chipper. I got him to parralel V and then I sat him down. I do that with all the guys I get at parallel V. I feel like third baseman has some many elite hitters. Bryant is insane too, You really can't go wrong.
