When there was double XP a couple of weeks ago I played for a full day/night to take advantage thinking they weren’t going to bring it back until the next program. This was all games on rookie against the computer and I ended up with over 100,000. No glitching or anything like that, I’m really not a fan of this cap thing
So going literally all day and all night earned you 50K XP. So you have to play almost non-stop in order to hit the cap.
You ... kinda just validated their number.
People really don't understand what they are saying.
I'm sorry but if you are getting 35K xp through GAMEPLAY then you need to put the controller down, go outside, read a book, spend time with friends and/or family because that is a LOT of gameplay (esp this far into the game cycle).

Complain about the XP cap all you want. Anybody that is playing a reasonable amount of hours or online at all isn't hitting that daily cap. Just people that grind the USA conquest over and over and literally don't do anything else.
Feel like this is almost targeted at me lately lol. But I havent been doing it for XP, been for stubs, and parallels. Each 5 strong holds is laterally 30-40k in stubs right now. Minus the west teams for a little while because they just gave out those prospect packs on the shark map.
Been an extra 80-100k stubs each night I grind the USA map 4-5 hours.
I'm not even trying to take shots at anyone either. If someone only has time to play on weekends then grinding out conquest games as fast as you can for 6 hours just for XP isn't the way to get there. Last inning there was 250k XP from everything in the collection section besides collecting Murray, Franco, and Mathewson. Anyone upset at this cap completes the inning 2 weeks before it ends and doesn't have anything to do for 2 weeks.
If I only play MLB during my free time gaming, I usually get the boss between day 10-14. I then usually play something more casual or actually don't even touch the console for a week.
I then come back 7 days before the inning is over and do the collections, showdown, additional conquests. Sometimes I hit 650, sometimes I don't.
Folks are missing the issue.
SDS knows what the EXPLOIT is. They don't know how to fix it. They know there's methods. They don't know how to fix them. People gave them everything to show them how to do them. They don't know how to fix it.
What's the solution? Cap XP. Don't penalize the bad guys. Let's alienate the good guys.
They are really just idiots at this point.
And I'm not crying because I am one of the guys that got a boss opening weekend from XP.
I agree they could have just fixed the exploit, but my main point is that they have always had XP caps until this year, and if I recall it was somewhere around 35k XP anyway. If they didn't mention it in the parch notes barely anyone would even notice
Their implementation of inning XP driving the bus is what created the problem of people trying various methods to "boss rush" XP.
RTTS and Exhibition should NEVER tie to DD XP. Want DD XP? Play DD.
Most exploits are game mechanics outside of DD that dump XP into it.
Na.... We don't know how to fix stuff, so we'll CAP it.

Perfect example is people that grind the conquest map (myself included). You can grind the entire map in one day (which is easily done I might add) and is way over 35k XP.
Anyone that grinds stubs and xp the right way (I honestly grind the conquest map daily) and parallels players on the regular, knows that 35k XP cap is way too low.
But in any case, a cap on XP makes no sense. It is placing a restriction on 99.9% of the player base due to a small number of people glitching the game.
USA map in a day? Dang brah

It’s 4-6 hours of gameplay. That isn’t really much.

Not complaining because it is what it is but a good example is I always wake up early and like to play 2 or 3 games vs CPU to relax and drink my coffee. Usually a game nets me roughly 5000 xp. If I play 3 games that's 15,000 xp. This morning I saw this xp cap but dont want to play those CPU games because I'm only allowed 35,000 for the day and finished 5th inning about 10 days ago. But playing would use up 15,000 xp that I cant get later when 6th inning drops. Seems like they wouldnt want to deter people from playing.

No, I don’t think either of you geniuses understand what I was saying. I took advantage of the double xp to get ahead in the program and came up with well OVER 100k, in the neighborhood of 150k.
-
The biggest issue is, for years rather it be "XP" or "Stars" they have always said "You can get stars or xp just by playing the game"
If someone just plays the game by walking their second controller 10 games 450 times, who cares? Why does it hurt SDS if someone spends 8 hours night one grinding out the bosses? You would think they would be happy because they are playing their game and no someone else. Now, instead of that person grinding 8-10 hours, they will now probably use that time enjoying someone else game. I find this to be a terrible time to issue this patch. The game is about to be dead in 2 weeks away.
-
Judging by the complaining here you're in either 2 camps;
Moaning cos you only play at weekends so how are you going to complete the 650k - probably fair, but you still will. At the weekend you do the collection rewards, Topps Now, new player programs, dailies, daily missions, normal missions, conquest, showdown - you can EASILY get 200k by playing only for a couple hours each day at the weekend.
Or moaning cos you rush it to try and get 1m stubs by doing the walk method. - well, tough.

While the xp cap won't affect me personally, it's still pretty bizarre/amateurish to tell your customers they can only play your game so many hours per day rather than just fixing the glitch or exploit.

At what point did SDS say you can only play their game for so long?????
That is how you are interpret what they said but in reality that's wrong. You can still play you just stop earning xp. This is not a new concept its been in this game and many other for a long time.
If you believe that XP is the only reason to play this game then you don't know this game as well as you think you do
-
Again I ask, when you finish the program you are no longer gaining XP towards anything. If you gain XP at the rate you say you would finish a program in a week. So do you not play anymore because you aren't gaining XP towards the program?
-
I have days where I play a ton too. Call me crazy but I was thinking I might wait and see how often I actually hit the daily limit before I get mad about it.

This^
XP is not the game. If you are only playing the game for XP then maybe you are the problem. SDS rewards you for playing the game. They don’t have to. All this spilled milk theory [censored] needs to stop. Every game has exploits. And this isnt even the first time this year SDS has capped XP.
The next post a few hours after the inning program drops is always how did X amount of people already get a boss card. Here’s my thought for nerfing XP rushes. Not that it’ll stop anyone but cap the sell value of the boss cards to let’s say 150k. That’s a reasonable number.

HERETIC! BURN HIM AT THE STAKE FOR USING LOGIC AND EXPERIENCE!
(But seriously, you guys are getting absolutely smoked next weekend in the Rose Bowl. #Geaux)

For those concerned let's do some math
35k daily XP limit
350k boss pack reward.35k x 10 days = 350k
Based on this if you just earned the daily xp and no other xp rewards it would take 10 days to get to the boss pack and 18 days to get to 600k.
Seeing as the shortest program to date was 21 days that is easily obtained.
Now based on that and the amount of people complaing that they earn more then the 35k per day does that mean you are to the boss pretty quick and then hit 600k not to long after so I have to ask what happen when you hit 600k and xp means nothing??? Do you stop playing for the next 12-17 days before the next program???
There is alot of people upset about this but I don't know if they actually understand how this all works or why they are really upset

The other question I have. If you are consistently hitting over 35k a day then wouldn't you have the program done in about a week. Which means you have about 3 weeks of gameplay earning no XP towards anything. So do you not play for the 3 weeks after you finish the program?
I was about to post this for the people saying “why would I play then”…. Well said

It’s not just about “rushing” the boss, it’s about when and how much people can play. Many people binge on weekends because they can’t play much during the week. Those people are screwed by this cap and will never max out the programs. Good, well run companies don’t do things that could send customers elsewhere.

Because it isn’t linear. Many people play very little during the week and a lot when they have time on weekends.

OK I can agree on the weekend point but again I stress we don't know of any other changes SDS is making to the programs. What if they add more XP rewards so yes XP for ganeplay is capped but their are more ways to earn XP via rewards to encourage this to ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME instead of exploiting it.
Give things time to play out
