Do you carry a backup C on your squad?

Wondering if you guys bother having a backup catcher or not? Not really needed imo unless you platoon based on splits or whatever. Or I guess if you pinch run for your C late in game. That's why I'm thinking ASG JT is super valuable. With him I don't think there would be a need to carry another C.

I carry 2 power bats from each side of the plate and 1 speed guy. (Hopefully a mix of INF and OFs)

Only if the other catcher can outhit my bench power guys. Schwarber comes to mind with JT starting.

On my bench I carry one catcher, one middle infielder, one corner infielder and two outfielders. Those don't necessarily have to be their primary positions. I just want to make sure I'm covered for all possible defensive replacements.
Ideally that group will have one speed guy, two contact hitters and two power hitters with at least one leftie or switch hitter in there somewhere.

I like to start Posada. If I hit decent with a Realmuto or Pudge card I like to keep them on the bench just in case I’m in a situation where Jorge is on first or second late in a close game and I need a catcher that can run faster than a turtle carrying several other turtles on its back.

JT might be all you need. posada being a switch hitter is nice too,

I carry Schwarber and JT

Yes I use one of Piazza or Realmuto and I have Posada on my bench to switch hit.

The beauty of realmuto is you don’t need to pinch run for him.

The beauty of realmuto is you don’t need to pinch run for him.
That’s why he’s the best catcher IMO. He’s a great hitter too. He’s a true catcher. In real life great catchers make pitchers better too by calling good pitches and locations. I don’t know if works in this game but Realmuto is really good at everything in this game.

Schwarber is in the outfield. Realmuto is C, I can't imagine a need to pull him, but I can switch Kyle in from the OF if there's like... a liner off the catcher? I dunno. Like having 2, though.

I keep Carlos Santana on my bench in case I need to pinch run for my catcher late in a game.
