You mean Pepe Alazar? I’ll give them a mulligan for that blunder but if they pull something like that again, I’m out.

Pepe Alazar was really fun

They sort of already do this with the way overrated Future Series Cards. We really have no idea on a majority of these prospects how they will turn out but SDS creates these 96-99 diamonds and throws some contact in here, a pinch or speed, a cup of power, a dash of clutch. etc.
How is that even remotely the same as mixing two players?

They’re both fake and overpowered cards.

Pepe Alazar was from the year 2025 so we don’t really know that he’s fake yet

They could take an all-star pitcher and and all-star hitter and put them together. And then you could pitch him and then let him play the field when he wasn’t pitching. But there’s no one who’s ever going to exist who can do that. So we don’t have to worry about it.

That’s a fair point. But I still wouldn’t classify that as “they sort of already do this.”
Projecting young players as future stars and giving them overpowered stats is one thing. But combining two players is something completely different. I’m not trying to say it’s a good or bad idea; I just think it’s a lot different than the Future Stars cards.

I have to admit, this post is pretty out there. Reading it and some of the posts to follow was a funny read though, thanks for that. I want the 2 way player card which combines Orel Hershiser and Steve Sax. I'll let you all do the math on the name.
