Yeah I dont understand how turning on balks would effect R2 at all. These guys arent using R2 for anything more than to disrupt pitching. R2 suppose to show previous pitches, and pitch confidence and such. But what maybe 2% of people who hit R2 use it for that? And they just hold it to take a peak every now and then not tap it 3 random times every AB. There are next to no R2 abusers using it to slow down pitching, that is a fact.
But like many others have mentioned. I use PP pitching and it hasnt been an issue all year for me, even though probably about 70% of my opponents have done the R2 tap every AB. The notification they give us now works wonders.
Simple. Turn on balks. Disable R2.
The point people are making is they arent related. Taking out one feature and adding a new feature helps nothing. People wanting pitching slowed down arent the issue. Its people who are abusing R2 by tapping randomly every AB. So why take away being able to see pitch info for guys who want to use that stuff, (honestly makes no sense to me, players cannot do that in real life).
If you believe people that say, "slow sown your pitching and R2 wouldnt be an issue" then you are very gullible lol. The R2 abusers arent doing that because of how fast you are pitching. Or they wouldnt do it starting with your first batter, and darn sure wouldnt be tapping it multiple times an AB at random times.

But that is why it’s there and why SDS hasn’t taken it out yet. Turning on balks takes out that reason for R2 to be in the game at all. I’m well aware many people don’t use it for what it’s intended.

I dont think you are understanding what I am saying. How does turning on balks make it were a feature that allows you to see pitch confidence and energy and previous pitch locations is no longer needed?
-
Balks aren’t the answer, and no way they’ll completely remove R2 to add balks. You think SDS is capable of programming balks to be consistent and without any long-term issues? Look at how well they’re doing with check swings.
They need to remove R2 all together, there’s plenty of room on the screen to add a pitch history window, or add it to the pause screen. Allow batters 2-3 timeouts per AB instead of the one, that way you can slow down what people think are quick pitching, or add a 1-2 second delay between pitches.
Adding balks will significantly extend the time it takes to play a game, a lot of people don’t want to take 1+ hr to play a game. There’s a balance here somewhere, but it’s definitely not adding balks and removing R2.

Hey, but according to some they can implement complicated coding that knows when to turn down the exit velo on your good swings, and make your guys make errors in key situations, or make you hang pitches, and turn this stuff off and on mid game so lesser opponents can make a comeback lol.

That’s only part of why R2 exists. The other part it to essentially “pause” the game

Yeah any solution that removes R2 and still prevents people from speed pitching I’m down with. 1-2 second delay would be great.
-
R2 should only prevent pitching until the pitcher comes set. Once a pitcher comes set, R2 shouldn't prevent the pitcher from pitching. This would still give people the ability to stop people from quick pitching, but people wouldn't be able to grief and mess with the pitchers timing to attempt to get meatballs.
SDS should also implement a accuracy penalty if you pitch before the pitcher comes set.

Put it this way. If you were allowed to force a balk (which turning this function on would do) idiots would stop their pitch in the middle of every single at bat and you would wish R2 was back in the game.

How would they be able to force a balk? I honestly don’t care about R2 at all. I don’t use it and when people use it on me it doesn’t bother me. I’m just saying there has to be a way for people to slowdown the pitches incoming. I can handle 10 pitches in 10 seconds but for a casual player that’s not a fun time.

That part I get. Speed pitching IRL does exist, but not to the extent that a pitcher IRL doesn't have a ball put in hand immediately after throwing. R2 is the only way to stop it. If guys are going to pitch so fast to the point where I can't call a timeout, you bet I'm gonna R2 that person.

See I wouldnt like that as a hitter. As a hitter I need to be in rhythm. It is a pitchers job to disrupt the hitters rhythm. Guys that pitch as soon as they can one right after another are best for getting in a rhythm. Feels like batting practice. As a hitter I dont want time to think about things too much. That is never good. That helps a pitcher. When I am pitching I take a different amount of time between every pitch no matter if I know what I am gonna do next or not.
But these things arent an issue right now. The only issue is guys tapping R2 over and over when you are pitching. Noone cares if someone hold down R2 to at the beginning of a pitch and then lets go. It is the abusers that are bad.

I am pretty sure that is already a thing. Another reason I love when pitchers keep my hitters in rhythm by pitching fast. They arent gonna be as effective.

Not everyone wants to play at that kind of pace though and it’s insanely unrealistic.

True, and to be clear I would have no problem with R2 being removed all together. I literally never use it. I dont look at that info and if I do there are other ways. I always have more than 3 min in pause time left by end of game so I have no problem pausing and looking at that info there rather than using R2 mid game. I was just trying to make an argument for the guys that legitimately do look at that info and arent cheesing. But it is whatever. the fact that we have to talk in such great lengths about what to do is probably why nothing will be done. And if there is something done just as many people will be mad about whatever they do as are mad now.
-
My issue is that sometimes when they time the R2 right when I start my windup. I see the icon pop up, and let go of the stick with PP pitching, and then that motion registers when they quickly release R2 and now I throw a wild pitch.

Idk man my 2 year old nephew can be pretty annoying and I don’t think there’s any anger or hatred there. Could be wrong. But more likely than not it’s just a kid trying to get this exact reaction from you.
I don’t think there are many young children that have Trout, Robinson and Rivera and are around WS in rank. These are full grown miserable dbags.
Common man !!!! A PINUS !!!!! IT'S FREAKING FUNNY !!!!!!!!!! Hmmmmmm no ... At least it help to know the type of game it's gonna be and the type of guy you play against ... You know this type right ? The "now with my vr headset [censored] is so much better" type. Poor lonely people .....

R2 doesn't really bother me. It's only a few seconds. Maybe they should limit it to 3 per at bat or something. What kills me is the pausing mid at bat. 3-2 count, big spot and opponent will pause for a minute. Constant pausing in big moments that really disrupts rhythm is annoying. Again, don't not let people pause but perhaps limit it. No pausing when a better has 2 strikes or something along those lines

@jnavarro25_psn said in If you hit R2 Three Times Before EVERY PITCH…..:
The R2 guys don't bother me at all. Just start waiting a ton of time between each pitch. I do that for a couple of batters so that they can't disrupt my timing. It's more annoying to them than they are to you and they usually stop. If they don't, I continue for an inning at a time until they do.
I do exactly this and it usually works. Once they realize you can make things equally annoying they usually stop or at least reduce the amount they do it.
-
What they need to do is allow the pitcher to complete the use of the interface and R2 just delays when the pitch comes out.
-
I got used to hitting R2 in previous years cuz I played exclusively in RTTS and I would try to guess pitches. Since SDS completely ruined RTTS (imho) I don't play that mode anymore. I still hit R2 from time to time out of habit in RS, but not as much. If my opponent starts spamming it I just take FOREVER between pitches.
