Theme teams

So I've played madden every few years and I love that players get a slight boost if you play with all the same team, I think it would be good to add to this game as well. Parallel is similar already so do the same thing but maybe only add like 2 or 3 to stats cuz even I think +10 is a lot to deal with.

Nah go back to madden. And I say that as a madden player. Don’t try to change this game into that game.

I've always been a fan of the idea. But it should be quirks that mesh well together. Not just "Team of White Sox cards", But If you had a hard throwing pitcher with a catcher that had pop time, maybe the catcher gets a +1 or +2 to something like Reaction or Arm Str

I like this idea, but similar to how NBA 2K has dynamic duos. Like if you played Lou Whitaker and Alan Trammel together you'd get a boost... or personal catchers/longtime battery mates Yadier Molina and Adam Wainwright or Gerrit Cole and Kyle Higashioka. Could be an interesting addition

Madden sucks but that doesn’t mean everything they do is bad. I always liked theme teams. What did you not like about it in Madden?
The only thing I didn’t like was that if they played a single game they’d count towards that team. I’d think it would be cool if MLB added it but restricted it to the team the card is for?

Cole and Higashioka are a dynamic duo? They’ve played together 2 years.
I think especially with parallels this year, theme team boosts would be excessive and this is coming from someone runs a theme team year round in RS.
Plus I think Madden shot themselves in the foot with it. It got to the point where people picked a team and only waited for players for that team. Then they dumbed all of the cards down to account for the boosts anyway.

Great thinking brotha but I don’t want that in MLB. We already have stats above 100. Let the lower stat guys stay that way. Parallels gives you the extra boost you need. Love parallel system

I think the dynamic duo idea is cool too. Or even like theme team but same era.
My Rockies for example. If you have Todd Helton, Larry Walker, and Bichette in the lineup they get +1s or maybe it’s just a minor quirk that’s activated. I wouldn’t want them to go too crazy with it.
You could do the same with Negro League players or the Houston Asterisks era haha
Or Father/Son quirk. The Bichettes, Griffey’s, Biggios.
