I understand people “bunt cheesing” but I wish others knew how to play small ball.

Earlier today I won a game. I was down 1-0 and had a lead off single by Torre. Next at bat he hits Tom Glavine, so runners on first and second with no outs. Lofton is my lead off man, so I place down a bunt so I can at least advance the runners and if I’m fortunate enough get on base. His second baseman proceeds to try bare hands it but misses the ball (I still had it beat if he picked it cleanly). He proceeds to pause the game and messages me, calls me everything under the sun for bunting and how I’m no good etc lol I’m like dang dude, it’s called small ball. I ended up winning the game, but mind you my previous at bats with Lofton was swings as anyone who has played in years past know how glitchy his swing is.

Just wish people knew how to play certain situations and don’t get mad at you for silly things.

I will attempt a bunt when the situation calls for it. Sadly, my bunt will fail 9 out of 10 times (wish that was also true for my opponents) lol

mate no one will ever be upset with a strategic bunt - that is baseball and its there for that reason - i am with you on your post - last night in RS for example i played however some DINK who had all 95+ speed runners on his team, bunting every possible chance because he couldn't hit a softball if his life was tied to it (yet his online record was pretty solid) - this is i think what becomes really annoying

and FYI i just pitch super high and fast all the time to avoid this bunt cheese effect

It’s because it takes no skill. If what you described is what actually happened then it doesn’t necessarily warrant the hate tho.

People hate on bunting because you’re playing a virtual baseball game who just decided to bunt all the time how is that any fun 1. All bad players do it and it works 100% of the time they do it. 2. Only way they can score. 3. Takes no skill. You must not have yet to play someone who literally but any time someone is in scoring position

actually bunting does take skill. If you miss with the pci or/and have bad timing, have an average or lower bunk/drag bunt stat, you could pop it up, bunt to hard or at a fielder, or your bunt goes foul. A foul bunt with 2 strikes is an out. So its no automatically a non skill based hit.

Also, you can adjust your infield to defend against a bunt. Your choice.

Jeff and Untouchably are 100% wrong and 100% salty. I bet they didn't defend a bunt well. Probably lost a game to a bunt. 😂😂

Since I know how controversial it is, I choose not to bunt so that my opponent doesn’t believe he was cheated. However, I wish it wasn’t such a faux pas to bunt. I would actually use the attributes given to cards like Jackie.

I always try to bunt with a man on 2nd with no outs if its the pitcher a good bunter at bat. Especially extra innings. If you don't you don't understand baseball.

A pitcher, or a regular batter with a good bunting stat. Sorry buggy forums won't let me edit my previous post.

Yea but I’m a good player and when I try to bunt it never works but subpar/horrible players bunt it is the perfect bunt every single time. Since when do you move the pci to bunt🤷‍♂️

Moving the runners into scoring position. No problem with that whatsoever.

Because I am who I am, I would have texted you and said "Bill, that was a very smart and strategic move. Good game, have a nice day."

Yes, I really would have done that. After yelling at my 2nd baseman.

shrug. You still need a buntdrag bunt skill on your player card plus timing. Try using your pci in batting practice on high pitches. Less pop ups. Bunting isn't automatic.

Define good jeff? Using contact to hit a homerun on a ball clearly unhittable in the real world? Do you use a zen ? Stop whining about bunters who beat you 1-0.

I agree with ya. No bunt cheese but if the situation calls for it just like your example I'm bunting or better yet playing situational baseball like you do!

The dead ball era needs to be forgotten about.

Bunt for a sac is ok

    Suicide squeeze is well…
