Finest Scherzer

I am looking at making a large purchase for him and wondering if anyone who has him and has started with him a few times can tell me how he pitches. I am at the point of mostly using stubs I make to purchase different pitchers and try to fill out my rotation to one I like as my main set and thinking of getting him to try to fill as one of my main 5. So any opinions on him is welcomed. Such as his control, and his windup with delivery.

Easy to read imo

Was this from batting against him or pitching with him? Just wondering because I have yet to face him so not sure how his delivery looks.

I have a small sample size with him. He’s something like 6-8 with a 5.00 era. The other dudes in my rotation have a 4.00 or lower. I was thinking of selling him and getting Billy Wagner.

Thanks. I have Cole, deGrom, Feller, and Kluber who I like. Haven't used Kershaw for a while but may also put him back in, just felt people had learned his pitches by now. I also have Bumgarner and Fergie Jenkins. Any suggestions of a high level pitcher besides Sale.

Seaver is pretty nice. And if you can live without a changeup, that Buehler finest card has been my MVP. Scherzer has been easy to bat against, for the most part, and he also had a 5.00 era for me.

How did you do with Bumgarner? I haven’t had him long, but his stuff keeps batter’s off balance and has a pretty low era for me. Also, 97 POTM Paxton is, or was a month ago, pretty much free after quick selling, and he has pretty good stuff. Have you tried Tom Seaver? He’s pretty good too. And don’t sleep on Adam Wainwright.

I used Scherzer for three games, it left such a bad taste in my mouth I sold him and have not rebought him yet. Small sample size and I'm sure many people have success with him, it was just so bad I couldn't stand him in my inventory.
3 games 2.2 innings (he got yanked pretty fast every game) 0-2 33.75 ERA 4.88 WHIP. -

Oh yeah I forgot to name Seaver that I have him and Wainwright. I like Bumgarner actually, just have to keep mixing up his pitches. But I can control his location good. I was curious about Blyleven, Walter Johnson or Mathewson. Anyone have opinions on which of the 3 is good? I actually just pulled Price in Headliners but haven't tried him yet. And Greinke, add him with the other 3 named that I'm looking at. There's so many pitchers it's hard to land on the 5 that I want to make my main starters.

I have Seaver but had a really hard time with him and had a bad era with him. I used him with the other bosses to get the voucher and so I won't quicksell him for just 5k so he just sits out of my rotation. Maybe I should retry him. I actually feel like I am supposed to have Kershaw in my rotation but I have pitched better with the four guys I named in my post as my main starters. It's just finding that 5th and final go to.

Hitting him and watching other ppl on twitch both hit and pitch with him. I haven't really seen anyone be successful with him yet.
My pitching is so bad that I probably won't ever give a review on a card based on that

Seaver is a little hit and miss, but he's kept his ERA sub 3 for me, the sinker, slider combo kills. If you don't give him another go, I'd highly recommend buehler, idk how others have done I don't hear much, but he's 30-5 for me with 2.69 era. Maybe 5-6 HOF conquest starts in those stats but I lost one of them lol. I'd like to know if anybody else is having success with buehler????

Don't do it. He's doo doo.

I've done alright with him so far I switch between him and Verlander.
have kershaw sale cole and greinke -

have kershaw sale cole and greinkeI would go for Sale but went through a lot of market work to finish out the Live series to get Mays to complete my outfield. I just cant afford Sale now. But I see you mentioned Greinke. I like watching College Lefty and he always seems to have him in his rotation. I know his card isn't rated the highest but he must be solid. Does he get a vote of confidence since he isn't costly.

I can control him which is pretty big for me. hits 97-98 good slider change up. plus has that slowwwwww curve to keep guys from sitting fastball. I dont have the best numbers with him cause I had him early on when I couldn't get out of allstar and everyone gets rocked
-
Scherzer is a beast! I dominate with him

At first, I had trouble differentiating between his cutter and slider when hitting, similar to SS Verlander or Bumgarner. But after seeing him a bunch of times I feel like he’s pretty easy to read now. They really did him dirty by not giving him a two seamer, sinker, or even a circle change (not really SDS’ fault, according to bbref, he didn’t have any of those in his “official” repertoire in 2019, even though he’s thrown them his entire career). It all breaks the same direction, which you get used to pretty quickly.

Thanks for the feedback too. I may just wind up putting Kershaw back in as the final starter and make that my go to rotation until 20 releases. I should probably get the 3rd inning boss pack before then so I can at least take Verlander and try him out.
