Guidry Daily- EVERYTHING that is wrong about the moment concept.

Today's daily. Finish Guidry 18k performance.
Ok. Need 9 K. No probs.
Ummm. Nope. You start in the 5th. So 9 K in 5 innings.
It's called a daily moment to encourage a user to log in daily and perform a task. This is in addition to various game modes SDS wants you to participate in.
If a DAILY MOMENT takes more than 5-6 tries, I can tolerate it provided that your time sink is under 20 minutes.
Nope. Not this one. You'll spend an hour trying 3 times and still fail. CPU caught stealing. Double plays. CPU fouling off pitches outside the zone and outside the PCI.
It's the definition of time sink, not fun or gaming even.
The mentally challenged doofus that generates a moment like this obviously doesn't play the game or understand the mechanics of the SDS moment engine, nor the general concept of a daily login system.
Games in 2021 want you to stop by daily, play for 5-10 minutes for a daily login/event or whatever, and then hopefully spend time playing the product.
Daily moments for the last week are only discouraging the average person from playing this game.
Get your act together moment team.

got it done the first time - was a cake walk - you are a good player too this should be easy for ya

Bro. You of all people know how much I LOVE Guidry.
I just finished it. Time between screen shots? 1 hour.
No DAILY MOMENT should take an hour. That's the bigger issue here.
P.S. Don't forget to ping me when you get to NYC eventually. We have a dinner, game and SNL visit to take care of.
-
I got it done on my first attempt but to call this a “moment” in nonsense.

I can see that you agree on the concept of the daily moment mechanic.
It's like a daily login for ESO, or COD or NHL etc...
It's supposed to be designed to bring you into the product daily, to hopefully spend time playing.
It shouldn't be a time sink, or mundane task meant to fail.

I dabbled in Madden this year and I got my dailies done in five minutes. In Red Dead, I only needed to do one task to keep my streak going and it would take me less than a minute most days.

An hour...Jesus. What was your plan pitching wise? I threw fastballs up and in for almost every pitch with the occasional slider to the bottom right corner, or curveball to the bottom left corner regardless of handedness. Almost every pitch was in the zone except for a couple where I screwed up the timing a bit. The CPU didn't even get so much as a foul tip until the 9th batter, and they eventually popped up to the pitcher. Then I struck out the 10th batter to end the moment.
I do agree that daily moments should be quick and easy. The 3 inning game ones have been ticking me off a bit. I didn't think this one was too bad though since it only took me a few minutes. Either you were extremely unlucky, or I was extremely lucky. Maybe a combination of the two.

I'm one of the few folks that plays with Guidry in ranked and use him pretty effectively. I was able to finish on the 3rd try by pitching almost exclusively OUTSIDE the strike zone.
Once again, it's not this one specifically, but rather, the way SDS has implemented the daily moment into their game.
It should be easy, 5 minute jobs. Anything that takes an average user more than 15 minutes, is counterproductive to the concept of a daily.

Part of my issue with SDS is the fact that most of them have never played or been involved with baseball. I'm sure they're fans and enjoy it, but lets be real, they're programmers/ coders. And thats totally fine woth me but lets get some experience and knowledge involved. That moment aside, I've had so many times where I wondered of they have ever stepped foot on a field. I'm not gonna name people off or be too rude but you can watch the streams and tell pretty easy that the only time most of these guys ever stepped foot on a baseball field was to take the umpire water or get snacks from their mom.

any "moments" in this game are a problem and have always been a problem, for sds to say these, any type of "moments" through out the whole game are fan favorites, are incorrect.
-
And the 3 inning gms for 1 whole point!! They're not hard but it shouldn't be 3 inning gms or 9 strikeouts which like OP said the CPU will foul off pitches that shouldn't be touched. IJS

lollllll guess who looks and acts like JP from Grandmas Boy over at SDS

I never mind pitching moments but this and a couple from the most recent Topps Now set were really painful to get done.
-
I 100% agree with this. When I saw that daily yesterday I said, nah. I dont like long dailies and its not worth 1 POINT! That was the other reason I didnt do it. The 3 inning dailies are annoying and the play with your ballplayer ones where hes pitching. I was one of the ones that bitched when they had a daily not too long ago where as your ballplayer you had to pitch one inning against the yankees not allowing a hit and you had to strikeout 3!!! They ended up changing it after I finally completed it! I just wrote a post about me uninstalling the game and this is one of the many examples why I did. The moments are infuriating at times and the missions are just getting way too repetitive. SDS has no creativity. Its the same garbage.
-
I finished 2 attempts
-
I think there is a system that kicks up the difficulty if you are getting thru them too fast. It seems like I will get two or three finished first try and the next two will take 15 min each for no dam reason other than bad luck
