This is a sim baseball game. That’s what makes it great. In baseball you hit balls hard right at guys sometimes. I personally think the game is much better now. Guys were hitting home runs on balls that had no business being a homerun. Should be rewarded for hitting your spots as a pitcher.
It has sim aspects but as soon as you add user input into the equation then it becomes decidedly less so.
In a game where the best players can hit .400 with a bronze player while the worst players struggle to hit .250 with a diamond player then you can't really say that it is a true sim. But. it is the closest thing the consoles have.

This game feels exactly like 19.
Hitting was what made everyone love the game for the first week.
SDS needs to reverse the patch. If they want to nerf hitting, they should:
Leave hitting alone
Increase pitch speeds so that they are level with 19
Leave hitting alone
Increase the size of the strike zone so that a pitch that clips the corner is a strike, not a ball (like real life)
Leave hitting alone
Buff pitching control so that people can spot pitches if they can achieve good feedback
Leave hitting alone -
Hitting is not worse than ever, but it is much less rewarding than launch and a tad more random with more Perfect/Perfect and Good/Good’s coming back as Good/Okay routine outs. It’s random when the feedback and hit results come back Good/Okay vs Perfect/Perfect.
For the sim heads and/or Devs the results are satisfying, ie. Scores, HR’s and ERA’s being more in line etc. For online gamers looking for a fun competitive experience the game feels a lot more contrived, feeling much less responsive/input based and much less fun.
The watered down hitting in combination with the completely random pitching equals a less fun and fulfilling experience.
They definitely should have tuned pitching before or in sync with the hitting changes. Just nerfing hitting while not addressing pitching other than pitch speeds leaves a lot of us with little desire to play.
Yes people are still having success hitting and tons of people are still playing a lot, but the gameplay feels much less engaging, intuitive and dynamic.

No. Remember good hitters hit .300 not .400+ in real life. Pitching was getting smashed by players that just middle swing without moving their pci. That was bs. Make it real.
Making it “real” means that user input has almost no meaning. I can live with it if someone beats me by outplaying me. What frustrates myself (and a lot of other players) is losing/nailbiters because the game is turning into a sim. If they want to make hitting harder, then up pitch speeds and shrink the pci. The timing window is absolutely cucked right now.
But hey, wanting the game to be “real” or a sim says all we need to know ️

Yeah. a sim lol. Bc a human with a controller moving a cursor around the screen for every batter is realistic.....want sim, us directional
Bc through low changeups and high sinkers over and over is realistic.. these dudes want a sim, yet spam the same pitch over and over Bc it works ion a video game...want a sim, then start pitching with the percentages of real baseball and throw mostly fastballs
Bc Mickey mantle, Griffey , and trout all played together. Want a sim only use live series players from the same team. Once a year you can make a leagues best all star team, but only use them one game

Most people on here aren’t hitting .400. The top players are hitting around and over .400 but that’s a small percentage of the player base. I had a game last night I was down 1 run against kluber against a top 10 player in the world. Two perfect/perfect fly balls in the 9th just to be caught as outs. One with mike trout. That shouldn’t happen. They literally said the complete opposite in their stream. A guy with 100+ power should be a guaranteed homer with perfect/.perfect. This game is 19 with different rosters right now.

Sometimes I agree that hitting is hard AF but then think about big leaguers and how good you have to be to play professionally. Like you can't be considered if you aren't able to connect to a 90mph fastball. And after that you have to figure out how to read a breaking ball in real time.
