I thought I'd make a post talking about some underrated cards I like and that are surprisingly useful on even the best teams. These are my takes, and what I consider underrated, but you may have already considered them, in which case, good for you. I'm just trying to give people the opportunity to learn about and use some other cards they may otherwise have overlooked.
1. AW Joe Torre 3B/C
I'm specifically talking about Joe Torre as a catcher here. While his primary is a 3B, there's such an abundance of great 3B that it wouldn't make sense to use him there. Torre's swing feels better than in previous years, and his max contact against both sides makes him usable on higher difficulties and versus lefty and righty pitchers alike. He has above 80 on both arm attributes, making him more than serviceable at the catcher position. I personally believe he is the best catcher in the game, but is often overlooked by Huff, Gary, Bench, or another.
2. FS Edward Cabrera SP
Admittedly not as underrated, but I think people still fail to understand how good this card is, and he could be overlooked by other TA pitchers like Cliff Lee or Garrett Crochet. He has a very zippy sinker with a weird release, making him hard to track and hit.
3. POTM Brandon Crawford
This card makes a really good platoon for some of the newer players. He's basically if that glitchy 2nd half Gary Sanchez was a SS with a little more well rounded stats. If you have a superteam, he probably isn't for you, but for newer guys he's worth a look.
4. AW Torii Hunter
Diamond fielding in any outfield spot, serviceable contact against either side, but posing a particular threat against lefties. I really like this card, but I've seen him a lot less than someone like the TA2 Dante Bichette (who let the record show, I also like, so as long as you can find a way to prevent his defense from being a liability.
5. POTM Justin Turner
Another card that's probably not for your superteam, but newer players will love this card, combined with how easily attainable it is. Great hitter with very little defensive liability, and you can move him around to any infield position in case of emergency.
