i played two DD rated games and won both over the weekend but there were close games 2-1 and 3-1 i think and it basically becomes a darn dirtball fest. i think sds needs to close in on the hit box for balls down low and allow you to foul off those pitches and/or make a dirtball a little more obvious to read. to me, its very hard to distinguish a dirtball on this game as many thousands of others say and feel the same way. irl, a dirtball is easy to read, not on this game. jmo.
No. It is WAY to easy to hit balls below the zone.

A dirt ball is not easy to read IRL when you're sitting on a 97 mph heater lmao. Patience and experience OP, two tools needed to get better at the game, and 100% of swings of balls in the firt should be missed. 100%.
yes but ask yourself this. how many times does a pitcher actually throw a ball in the dirt during a pitch count irl. maybe once, once he has the batter 0-2, 1-2....not throw 5 dirtballs in at bat with a total of a 50 dirtballs in a 9 inning game. thats not baseball
Because he knows the batter has a professional eye for pitches. If he were facing a guy who swung at everything, he probably would throw nothing but dirt.

Will say this..as another poster said the issue is on a tv the fastball explodes on you so quickly that you have to sit on it and you end up chasing low balls all the time.
For me a monitor really isn’t feasible as my PS is attached to my TV for a Blu-ray player and streaming services as well.

The first pitch I throw every single game is a curveball in the dirt. If you swing, it's also the second pitch I throw. This will continue until you stop swinging.
Don't swing, you'll start to see better pitches to hit. Maybe set the controller on the floor until 2 strikes, that should help you with taking pitches, and seeing the pitch as it comes in. Eventually you'll get pretty good at identifying breaking balls in the dirt.
Same here; 90% of players have zero plate discipline

Why stop there let’s just make every squared up ball a automatic home run . Plate discipline is part of the game and part of the skill gap there’s already plenty foul balls as it is with pitches out the zone .
To make it even better, he's only won 2 RS games which means, he's still playing on veteran difficulty and complaining about this.....
those are online rated exhibitions, they are easy. id be 3-0 if i didnt have to leave a game. those games i was messing around with guess a pitch zone thing while batting, trying to learn the game.. i play dd rated and realized thats where i wanted to be......like a dumbarse tho, i started playing dd rated to early and fast and lost a bunch of games early.....however after alot of practice and learning more about mlb 21 and realizing the type of player i need to get or unlock for my personality, im 5 out of last 6 wins i think.
Bud, your DD record is 2-1. I think you're extremely confused about the game, game modes, and what you're doing in the game. Feel free to ask questions, there's a lot to digest in this game.

sds should widen the hit box for contact or make a mode called "strikezone" where all pitches have to be delievered no higher or no wider than a ball's distance any where outside the strikezone box.
It turns into a “dirt fest” because you keep swinging at them. Trust me, if you start laying off of them, you will see different pitches.

Yea 102 mph fastball to a 85 slider works. Other than that change ups and curves have what I would guess is about a 99% foul off rate. Even very early. Just foul foul foul. I’ve played plenty of games to know this. If you can blow a fastball by for a K then you can get it. Otherwise pretty much no offspeed pitch in the zone will get you a K very often.

It’s not true though. It’s not even true against dudes who can’t see and will literally swing at every single breaking ball in the dirt for 9 straight innings. You put the ball in the zone and they will foul it off very early 20 times in a row. If someone could time up telling me the pitchers release I’d bet you couldn’t get me to miss 2 or 3 out of 20 change ups or curves in the zone while I was blind folded.
