to branch off, and not be a complete pos, custom practice mode, you can pick where the pitchers throw the ball, the exact location, theres your strike zone mode.
there are not any dirtballs in practice mode, just low zone. but yeah thanks for your courtesy and kindness

i agree and yes this is my first yr!!!...just saying, there are alot of dirtball pitchers, its annoying. even if you can read them just fine, isnt it annoying you cant even play the game of baseball because of this [censored].

Yup. Might as well go play 20 if that's what you're looking for. Check swings and foull ball galore until the game forces one down the middle for a 3 run homer that will win you a game you had absolutely no business of winning.
disagree, the contact and vision can be altered using a strikezone mode and there is a such thing as being a crafty pitcher.
Look man, the thing you're bothered with in this thread is the very same thing people were so fed up with last year. Strikeouts were non existent and terrible players could keep at bats alive until forever. The only people who would be upset with these changes are them, the terrible players.

The first pitch I throw every single game is a curveball in the dirt. If you swing, it's also the second pitch I throw. This will continue until you stop swinging.
Don't swing, you'll start to see better pitches to hit. Maybe set the controller on the floor until 2 strikes, that should help you with taking pitches, and seeing the pitch as it comes in. Eventually you'll get pretty good at identifying breaking balls in the dirt.

It's way, way too easy to make contact with pitches low out of the strike zone. It's become ridiculous at this point.

Why stop there let’s just make every squared up ball a automatic home run . Plate discipline is part of the game and part of the skill gap there’s already plenty foul balls as it is with pitches out the zone .

Maybe change your camera? I struggle less with the low pitch after experimenting with different views.

There are three things I'm going to do every game - especially if I'm using a pitcher like Sixto, DeGrom, Cole - you're going to get a heater likely in on the hands or up out of the zone - and you if you chase it you can bet we are going there again but I also want to see your timing on 100mph heat. You're going the get a slider down and away - if you chase it you can bet we are going throw it again. And you're getting a curveball or changeup in the dirt - and if you chase it I'm going to go back down there again.
If you show me that you cant resist these pitches that are clearly not a strike why would risk throwing you something to hit?
This is EXACTLY what happens in the majors as well. Look at Caven Biggio - he showed the last two years that he struggles with the high fastball - guess what he gets a steady dose of.
Someone gave you a great suggestion - take until you have 2 strikes - if they are throwing trash in the dirt you're going to end up getting your walks and they will be forced to either come into the zone.

I have a question. If you see your opponent is taking terrible swings at pitches out of thr zone are you gonna put one in the zone just for the sport of it?
I work outside in, I start outside and if a guy lays off I get more aggressive in the zone but if someone is flailing like an idiot at anything out of the zone I would be an even bigger idiot to put one in the zone until needed. -
If you dont swing at the first 3 dirt balls chances are you'll get a strike.

those are online rated exhibitions, they are easy. id be 3-0 if i didnt have to leave a game. those games i was messing around with guess a pitch zone thing while batting, trying to learn the game.. i play dd rated and realized thats where i wanted to be......like a dumbarse tho, i started playing dd rated to early and fast and lost a bunch of games early.....however after alot of practice and learning more about mlb 21 and realizing the type of player i need to get or unlock for my personality, im 5 out of last 6 wins i think.

Everyone’s been influenced to use the strike zone camera, and its really not one size fits all, personally I find that view the worst at recognizing pitches and their break.
I found myself flailing at garbage pitches in the zone so I moved back to a pulled back view and I stopped chasing. -
