I could get a hit off of an MLB pitcher

This dudes just a walking talking fish tale. Every claim is more outlandish than the last. All his arguments are based on a false premise, which makes his arguments even less credible.
-
this thread just made me watch when Chapman threw 106mph to McCuthen and it nearly took his helmet off as he was just trying to remove his body out of the way of it because he could barely see it
Yeah bro. Give it a go

Bet he could hit that

Thatβs crazy because I said it would be a 5 ERA MLB pitcher, not Chapman

Bartolo Colon hit .084, I am miles more athletic and coordinated than he is. I have a good build and am in my physical prime.... and I basically only need to hit half as well as Colon.
Ok dude just stop. Now youβre asserting that youβre a better athlete than Bartolo based on what evidence? Please enlighten us!!! Because heβs fat??? Because he doesnβt run fast?? Because he is a terrible hitter??? How about these facts!!! Heβs a former cy young award winner, finished in the top five for the gold glove at his position several times. He has actually hit a home run. He has posted several videos on social media of his workout regimen. The dudes a lot more athletic than you give him credit for and my guess is at the age of 48 he would still blow you away at plate with his 89 mph fastball that he can dot anywhere in the strike zone that he chooses. But you continue embarrassing yourself with these outlandish claims and weβll continue rolling our eyes at your ignorance.
Heβs good at baseball, heβs not athletic. This isnβt really something disputed
Kinda like how youβre athletic and NOT good at baseball.

There's a YT video of a guy who's never played before making contact with 95 MPH after like 6 days of practice.
My form and swing is already better than said guy, for example, his back foot appeared to move too much and his swing was longer and loopier than mine.
If he can still make contact with 95, I should be able to make solid contact with MLB pitching. Granted there will be offspeed mixed in, but who knows, maybe I hit the offspeed better. I also get many more chances than the dude from the video, I get 20 ABs.
It's ridiculous how quickly people in this thread dismiss the possibility of a hit. If you believe I'm underestimating MLB pitchers (which again, most of my argument is based off probability, so that doesn't matter) than you're certainly overestimating how good MLB pitchers are.

Alot of people dont realize, the worst player in the MLB, NBA, etc, is 100 times better than the average person.
that's simply not true. The worst NBA player is maybe 10 times better than a great pickup player, not 100.
I said the average person, a great pickup player is has much better basketball skills than an average person.
Well then I'm significantly better at baseball than the average person. I have at least played at some level, I know good form and technique and have a better eye.
No youβre not. Youβre basically the definition of average

This whole thread is irrelevant. He will never try to do it. By his logic, I could kick a 50 yard field goal as I used to practice field goal kicking in middle school but I canβt do it now because my history of groin injuries.

Entry level skill set is what I would call average and thatβs exactly what you would have if you havenβt played since middle school. Itβs actually kind of insulting to people who have spent a lot of time trying to be good at baseball for you to come in here saying you can roll out of bed and get a hit in the majors.

hey maybe we aren't giving op credit he might have Usain Bolt speed and can just square around and bunt for his hit

its not about anyone's estimation of mlb pitchers. its that you haven't hit live pitching since middle school. Also no 2 people are the same, maybe that guy has faster reaction time, faster hands. so many things go into hitting that you cant just say you'll pick up a major league bat for the first time and expect to hit. even in 20 ABs

Hey guys, I just saw some guy on YouTube shoot a hole in one at the 17th at TPC Sawgrass. It doesnβt look that hard. Bet you I can do that given 20 tries.

Except a hole in one is hard even for professionals. Getting a hit simply isn't the equivalent
