Cannot play Friends on MLB The Show?

Good Afternoon
Apologies if this has been asked before, I have looked around, I've asked on Twitter, and in streams and for some reason never even thought about coming here
When I invite a friend to a game, the "Ready Up" remains locked, and once the 2nd person loads into the game, it remains locked (Showing a Padlock) and then says "Failed to join game session"
It's been like this since day one now, and I just can't find a way to get this to work, any help would be great thanks

Not sure what the issue is bud. Are you trying to play other xbox players, or ps players? Maybe make sure cross play is enabled.
I haven't had this issue, just played a friend last night.

I haven't had this issue, just played a friend last night.
Both sadly.
I've turned it off, on, tried doing handstands the lot, the game simple fails to connect. The "Ready" part of the game just stays locked

I’ve had this very same issue - and the same goes for a couple close buddies of mine. We can all play online, but when it comes to friendlies or custom leagues, we can’t get a game to get past the “Ready Up” stage.

I’ve had this very same issue - and the same goes for a couple close buddies of mine. We can all play online, but when it comes to friendlies or custom leagues, we can’t get a game to get past the “Ready Up” stage.
Aye starting to get pretty annoying now to be fair, was ok for a while as so many users, but meh, worrying now they're not addressed it

I’m still having this issue. my friends never even receive the invite even though it says “Invite sent” in the PS5 UI.
Can we get an official bug report / investigation by SDS here? Super frustrating, no way to contact support either.

is this even possible via cross play other than in leagues, online rated and DD?

just saw a twitch streamer successfully add friend and play vs friend, so it has to be something these two parties are doing.

I have found that the 1st friend invite doesn't work for some reason but I just send a 2nd invite through & its always worked for me
