I haven't had any noticeably increased success using contact swing... is it only an online thing?

It's 100% a thing. It's not even debatable. You could argue how much of a thing it is, but there is definitely an imbalance that needs to be corrected.

At the beginning of the season this board was flooded with post after post of "Gameplay is great! Fix the servers!!" Now that the servers seem to be fixed, or at least good enough for posts complaining about them to be rare, suddenly gameplay isn't so great. Which seems odd to me since no changes have been made to it.
If they do "fix" contact hitting, the community still won't be happy. You'll just move the goalposts again and find something else to be unhappy about.

Yeah no one is ever happy. I've played every single MLB The Show that has ever came out and I'm rarely if ever disappointed. Are there things that bug me or I would like to see different maybe? Of course. But it is a quality game. I play basically every sports game out there year in and year out but I'd say The Show is the best of the bunch.
The more time the game is out, the more people find to complain about.

At this point someone from SDS needs to address if they intend to fix it or not. Cause if not I can Uninstall and try again next year.

I'm probably in the minority but I like the variety of hits that's comes with contact swinging. The frustration for me comes in when opponents pci placement is terrible. The game bores me with it only being a homerun or line-out every at bat.

Pretty sure contact swing is the same as it ever was. The only thing different is being able to see your opponent’s swing feedback. The feedback is questionably accurate anyway.
I don’t see a problem here. Obviously BR is harder to get people out. It’s All Star difficulty. I’m being serious. I’m not that good but have been having fun playing BR.
I would say many of you are not as good as you think you are, based on how most of my opponents pitch.
It is not good enough to just spam balls until 3-0 and then throw a fastball down the middle before throwing another ball, contact swing or not. Many of you seem lost when pitching.

Neither or you have any credibility. Contact swing should not produce HR outside strikeout with 100+ exit velos. Go back to your CPU games

You can agree that The Show is awesome and in the same breath state you want them to fix the OP contact swings. It's not a difficult concept.

I haven't used contact swing, so I have no opinion on it. I'm normie all day. But, why don't you just use contact swing if you fear it so much?

Hmm. 111 posts vs 2.3k posts. Who has no credibility?
The same results happened last year and nobody was screaming about it. I’ve hit contact swing home runs with Griffey jr for years.

My god, I guess I'll test it.
I'll go home after work (where i test software all day) and play several games.
1 against the CPU using my DD squad, 1 against the CPU using the worst team in game, 1 against a friend using my DD team, 1 against a friend using a crappy team, 1 RS game with my DD squad, and 1 online ranked game using a crappy team.
I'll use only contact swing for every pitch.
When I'm done I'll know if it is broken or not. -
Bigger PCI and no exit velo reduction. It's a factual issue.

Pretty sure Trout or any of the power hitters in mlb can choke up not swing as hard and still produce a homerun. Everyone that's weak I contact swing with doesn't hit me homeruns even with perfect perfect. Watching mlb literally almost every game has this mixture a couple homeruns a few bloop hits and a couple doubles in the gap.
