I've been trying not to go to a monitor as I really enjoy relaxing on my couch and playing on the big screen. I just bought a 55" Samsung Q80T. This is between 5-9ms input lag in game mode and kind of advertised as the best (affordable) TV for gaming thats avaialble. I've only just set it up yesterday so still fiddling with it a bit, but already in my first online games i'm early on everything so i need to adjust to the quickness. But I can deifnitely feel the difference, and it's feeling pretty good so far.
That's a great TV for gaming. For the price its honestly a steal. I just bought one for my oldest son and he hasn't lost a ranked game in almost a week. He's like 12-0 on that thing lol

i use both. Alienware 1080p 240mhz monitor with g sync, 1 ms and my TV which is a TCL 6 series geared towards gaming.
Honestly can't tell the difference except it looks better on the tcl. Xbox series S .

One sign of being a casual you know what is playing The Show on a TV.
I bet my TV has better input lag than whatever monitor you're using. And it has true 4k at 60 fps an hdmi 2.1 hookup and 65 inches of glory. Oh and a speaker. What you rocking with? Wanna play??
Dude I'm not a console noob, I have TVs for watching sports and Netflix. I'm a PC gamer, I have a 34" Ultrawide Monitor...I basically own a PS4 only for The Show and I play it on my monitor and obviously I gatta play it in 16:9 on my UW Monitor like I'm living in 2005, how the heck these "Next Gen" consoles didn't support 21:9 ratio is beyond me. And my computer has a 500 watt 5.1 where I switch over to my PS4 with an optical switch when I'm playing The Show.

Ouch! I also have a sweet monitor but its only 31.5 inches lol. To be fair though I am a casual but its still a silly thing to say. Plenty of people playing on TVs will walk all over you and other "PC"gamers...

If you have a TV made more recently they are nearly as good as any monitor. My 65" q80t has 9.8ms input lag at 4k. If the game supported 120hz it would be at 5ms. I hardly notice a difference using it or my monitor for my PC.
If you have a Series X, you can set the console to output 120 and get the lower input lag even if the game doesn’t support 120 fps. When I checked, I wasn’t able to do the same on PS5, but that was before the newest firmware.
-
Play my Xbox Series X games on my new LG C1 77” OLED with VRR. On my PC I use an RTX 3090 water cooled card with an LG GSync 144hz 38” ultra wide monitor.

i am loving this thread thanks guys need something massive to get that immersive experience

Probably a typo. Remove “what” from the sentence.

You’re right. But this is the dude’s whole sentence:
“One sign of being a casual you know what is playing The Show on a TV.” So if you leave out the what and add a couple commas, it reads like this: One sign of being a casual, you know , is playing The Show on a TV. Obviously, I’m just speculating. -

LG 65" CX Oled. Don't look back.
I heard the LG CX was good to game on but it's too expensive I'm on a tight budget so I'm thinking about picking up a TCL 5 Series specifically the s535. TV is 4K 60 but I have an Xbox series s and I heard that it doesn't support 4K it upscales 4K though
The 55 inch can be had less than 1400 and 65 inch less than 2k.

LoL ok I guessOh no, a comma has cause so much confusion....I apologize to the noobs and casuals and DD players alike. The sentence should of went "One sign of being a casual, you know what".....should of meant "one sign of being a casual NOOB". Noob was the missing word, I figured from my past work most of you would of figured it out.

I think because he owns a PC that makes him special. Almost like millions of people don't own them lol. He's prob the only one to ever own one on these forums so hes cool ya know.... He can say what he wants bc he isn't a casual noob bc he owns a PC. Although he does own a console too so i think he hates himself too? Idk how that works, I don't have a tiny dck.

How many of you game on a TV and how manly game on a gaming monitor? I'm curious as which is better obviously a gaming monitor is going to be better with 1ms response time but can a gaming TV be viable to play on also?
I've been playing on an older TV, and I was constantly late on every swing, even on game mode. My daughter had a newer but much smaller Samsung tv. I borrowed it and what a difference! I'm hitting much better now. She was nice and gave it to me!
