I buy this game to have FUN, like video games are supposed to be. If y’all want to make things harder then have 2 different online modes in DD.
1 - Arcade, or whatever you want to call it, where players like myself can smash hits and play for fun....who cares if the score is 15-13....this game is not real baseball.
2 - Competitive, make things as difficult as you want...plain and simple.
Making universal changes to different styles of players just doesn’t work. I might just play online rated at this point, seriously, I’m really not in the mood to have to adapt to patches throughout the year in DD.
Thanks.

They killed the game. They had all the momentum in the world and they just left 95% of their player base behind. I shouldn’t have to buy a $1000 monitor to play a game.
Hitting is pure trash now. After patch, most boring show I’ve ever played. Worst than 18.

It’s like, who are they making these changes for? Do they watch the YouTubers and top players smashing everything and decide they can’t allow that? Like I said, the only real solution is separating the styles of players and letting US decide how we want to play.

Those guys aren’t the ones spending money too because they get everything for free. Guess they want people to quit.
I think this game dies an early death this year. With changes exchanges/ quick selling, now having a product that doesn’t work for the majority of the player base, this isn’t looking good.
It feels like 2018, but worse.

It's a no win situation for them really. They have created a mode that appeals to a wide variety of people, good and bad, online and offline, those who play for competitive reasons and those who play for fun.
They can never make a difficulty change that will be universally accepted. Last year the complaint was that it was too easy to get cards and that there was no skill gap. This year they have started adjusting the game to cater to the best players by making hitting more difficult and a mode like Showdown harder.
As a player who is at best average and who actually lost stubs on my first inning Showdown attempt (I should not have but I played badly) I find it hard to get motivated to go play today.
Luckily Out of The Park Baseball releases tomorrow so I will play some franchise there this weekend.

I made a big deal in a separate thread about how the decisions they've made this year have hurt the offline DD players. This just adds on to that. The online players will still play each other even and the cream will still rise to the top, but the offline players and average or worse players are the ones that are going to take the brunt of this. Decision after decision is hurting those players and pushing them away.

Agreed that this mainly hurts those who just aren't that great at placing the PCI.
Also agree they need to buff pitching
With that said I'm happy this increases skill gap online for selfish reasons

2 different online modes for the styles of players to choose from, that would be a step in the right direction. If they want to make changes throughout the year, do it in the harder mode and leave us players who want to have fun alone.

SDS probably paid a lot of money to get Smoltz, Glavine, and Maddox in the game. If pitching becomes irrelevant, this would be a tremendous L from a business standpoint as well as from the standpoint of fans who want to pitch with them and play well.
What people are failing to realize is that aLS cards are designed to be dynamic with IE boosts and penalties. IE impacts pitchers and hitters. With no IE for the foreseeable future there will have to be a lot of tinkering to compensate. Get used to it. We are living in a strange moment. If you refuse to adjust, there are other games available for download.

I think Directional is the move here now to be honest.

Do what the guy ahead of me said, go play another game. I know I will. What you're in for is 3-4 months of patches monkeying around with the game when all they have to do is go back to launch sliders.
Same thing they did in 19 and 18. This is what they do.

2 tiers would great but I dont see that happening...… looking for alternatives
