The short answer: Yes.
The long answer: Yes, they are.Free packs you earn in game are fun to open. I never recommend buying standard packs, although headliners and special packs can be good at times. You're better off buying the cards you want, or using those stubs to flip to further increase your stub count.

Don't do it. Not today atleast. I've had very good pack luck this year, I've pulled just about ever diamond you can, im a bit addicted to it. I've found that when diamond prices in the market and either higher or lower than usual thats when you want to buy packs.

Look at the odds. You are statistically very unlikely to pull a diamond. You are statistically likely to pull a few golds.
Is that worth the stubs you spend on the 50 pack and the buyer's regret you'll feel after not getting anything worthwhile?

I've had pretty good pack luck with all the free packs I've earned. Probably have pulled at least 10 diamonds in what you can earn just playing offline.
I thought what the heck and bought a 50 pack and got zero diamonds and only two golds. So yeah, total waste and now I've sworn it off again lol.

Estimated value of each pack is around 1200 at this point in the year.

If you need common/bronze ( because they are so awesome to get ) go for pack it's gonna feel like Christmas ! But with 104k you can actually buy a lot of diamonds/gold for your collection. If you have issue with gambling like myself well ... You know what to do lol

Don’t buy them!!!! Unless you have stubs that you have no use for, but the majority of the time you will be severely disappointed by packs

If you will regret having nothing to show for 50k in stubs then don’t do it.

Yes buy the 50 pack it's better than filling someone else's bank buying thier card off market when you have same odd as them to pull it. YOLO!!!!
It will also give you inventory toward future upgraded card possibilities. Cards you get from packs are still flipping good. If it was end of year i would say no go for card you want, but this literally first month still.

I’m convinced that the last few years packbodds are not what they say they are bc the first few months of the game I pull diamonds like crazy and then it tails of considerably. The rate at which I’m pulling diamonds is nuts right now and I’m thinking sds might’ve juiced packs to make up for the server issues.

Over here for me it's 2 diamonds in 600+ packs, so yeah...Scam

Stay with the free packs. Even if you get a good pull here and there on a bundle, eventually you’ll run dry. I got two Degroms off of free packs this year and several lower diamonds. All off freebies.

I pulled like 50 diamonds last year. Maybe they gave us better odds because of the short season for 20? Not sure but annoying as hell. I'm NMS and I want to do collections but I can pull anything!

Its a lottery ticket. Sometimes you win.....most of the time you do not. I have gotten 5 diamonds out of packs so far this year, but ive opened a lot. You should just buy the player you want directly in most situations....BUT there are other benefits to opening packs. If you do player collections, you will need all those lower ranked players. They have lots of collectables in them. If you do daily exchanges, you will need lots low ranked fodder.
They do have plenty of silvers and a decent amount of golds in them, also.
Packs serve a purpose. Its only the people buying the lottery ticket expecting to win that are disappointed.
Its all about mindset and expectations.
