Hate the tribe boys growing up. Smoltz, Glavin and Maddox. Great pitchers. Early 2000’s I remember an incarnation with the A’s. They had Zito, Mulder and Hudson

Halladay.... Though as a kid, I grew up the most impressed with Maddux despite being on a team I didn't like.. so much so, that my son is named after him. And also because it's a great name.

Easily mr. Big Sexy Bartolo Colón. He did it all. Great pitching, gold glove defensive plays and he could go yard on you. Not to mention that one in a million smile.

Carlton is my all time favorite starter and I always loved watching McGraw come in and shut people down.
More recent, loved watching Halladay pitch, it was pure magic and excitement. He could make a 1-0, 2-0 game just seem electric.

SP: Nothing like wasting a day watching Kevin Brown on the bump. He would frustrate so many batters with the eternity he would intentionally take between pitches. He exemplified the game within the game.
However, out of ALL pitchers my favorite was Trevor Hoffman. He was the true artist on the mound.

Nolan Ryan has to be up there. Guy was dominant even right before he retire. Loved watching Randy Johnson pitch. The fact that you had professional left hand batters bailing out of the batters box like a little league game on a strike on the inside corner told me his stuff was that electric.

Loved the way David Cone pitched. I could watch him all day.
Pedro Martinez for sure -- wish the Expos could have scored some runs for him every once and a while.

Though I was quite young when Nolan still pitched (1984), I do remember a few times watching him. It was like there wasn't a hitter there at all.. Just a crazy Texan throwing darts he had no idea where they were going to a catcher. It was either a walk or a strikeout. Truly one of a kind.
Big unit was insane. Nobody wanted to face him. So impossible to hit during his prime. Lefties were scared to stand in the box. A left-handed Ryan, but with much better command. And a better pitcher than Nolan because of it.

I met Ryan at one of his last spring trainings(maybe 1991?). If you watched him on TV he just looked like some old man but up close he was tall and built like a linebacker. Next to guys like Conseco and Gonzalez he was close to the same size. Then when you saw him pummel Robin Ventura you understood.
Randy's height just gave him an unfair advantage. He was like 3/4 of the way to the plate before he released the ball. -
Even though I'm a Yankees fan, my favorite pitcher growing up was Roger Clemens. I loved the way he attacked hitters and his overall bulldog mentality. With all of the PED allegations tied into the second half of his career its definitely tainted how I feel for him, but I can't change the fact that he was my favorite for a long time. Mariano Rivera became my favorite Yankee in the 90s, so it's probably him.

Aaron Sanchez. All Star in 2016 and CY Young candidate but fell off due to injuries now he is making a comeback with the Giants and is doing well.

Really?? Interesting.. watched him come up in the Jays system.. volatile is a good word.. crazy movement on his fastball. Crazy how he's getting by now, with very different stuff.
