First inning showdown team affinity some tips please?

Maybe practice?...like get into the batting cages and take swings?.....like actually practicing?..isn't that how you get better at things?

I feel like they throw more balls to you in the showdown than on veteran outside that game mode. It helped me to be patient, and just wait for certain pitches in certain spots I'm looking for. If you get very selective the challenges are very easy.

Just wait and be patient. Do not chase. Could be the first pitch of an AB or the 5th, but they will always/eventually send you one right down the middle and all you have to do is be ready.

Thanks i should be more selective i guess, and the practice makes sense.

Putting my T.V. into game mode as others suggested helped all around dramatically. It was causing input lag i never realized was such an issue until it was gone. I then had to readjust to pulling absolutely everything but well worth it!

They tell you it's "veteran" but the sliders are tweaked where it plays differently.

It plays very differently from the other modes. But square it up and good things will eventually happen. I find in showdown I'm less likely to get away with bad contact, but good contact is rewarded more (usually in conjunction with the exit velo boost cards).

Dude, it is crazy the difference. Back when they released the Test play for The Show 21, I hadnt used my PS5 for a while, so when I finally went to use it my TV settings had changed for the input. It didnt have game mode on. And I couldnt hit jack. I thought, wow, they really changed hitting! Then tried on my monitor and immediately started ripping. I switched to monitor to see if it has 120 FPS, but it didnt. So when i put it back to TV I realized something was wrong and fixed it up to have game mode and things were back to normal. Without game mode it is literally unplayable.

These two posts should be read by anyone who wants to improve!
With that being said it does play different b/c of perks mostly, but the bosses are supposed to be hard. I played it like 3 times total last year hated it. This year i think i have won the showdownd 2/3 of the time, and i have played 3 times as many in a 2 week period than i have since mode was introduced. So it was improved upon. Just hang in there you will get it!

This! I have been using a older, large tv to play and almost all of my swings were late. I borrowed my daughter's small samsung TV with game mode and it made a huge difference. Even an older but smaller computer monitor may be more helpful.
