Turning PS messages off has been a real blessing.
Not only does it prevent others from sending me dumb angry messages, but it prevents me from potentially sending a message in the heat of the moment that I will undoubtedly regret later.

I wish I took that good advice a few months ago. I had a weirdo message me out of the blue demanding that I look into what some user was writing on the old site.

Well I guess we know where this thread is going now...

You're right. The top players are sore losers. They will blame the game when they lose. I remember watching pitching rebels stream couple years ago and he was blaming the game when he was losing. It's always been like this. This is why I don't care who the top players are. Means nothing. I have more respect for the average player who plays straight up and doesn't quit when losing.
And the followers who send messages to you, they're even bigger losers.
Rebel has definitely changed from a couple years ago. I think heâs just accepted that this is how the game is going to go.
I have respect for people who donât quit while losing...
Aside from DCs I have not quit a game since 17. It's my code, if I'm down a ton I'll just throw a position player out there until I'm mercied.

Yeah, I took the recommendation to turn of messages last year and have not regretted it.

I beat YourFriendKyle yesterday. Watch his stream, he completely ignored that I was taking pitches just off the plate and having good ab's and complained that he wasn't being rewarded for good input

This is one of the reasons people like Kevin so much. Sure, he every now and then heâll say something like âHow was that not gone?â, but for the most part he just gets upset with himself for missing a good pitch or not locating pitches. He doesnât constantly blame every thing that does wrong on the game itself.

It is absolutely possible that you deserved to win. However, it is also possible that you won as a consequence of him not being rewarded.
This is why I habitually check the PCI analysis post game and look at the hit-chances of both players' hits and outs and check how many fouled balls each player had and where. This way you can analyse the end-result of the game in a more objective manner.
I for instance won my last RS game against a relatively highly rated player, but will be the first to admit that, from an objective stand-point, I should not have won.

Seraf one thing that legit amazes me is the concept that someone deserves to win. In my entire sporting life there has been one fact NOBODY âdeservesâ to win. Deserve implies some sort of morality to winning and losing.
Imo the person or team that âdeservesâ to win is the person or team who actually won.
The only stat that really matters is W. Every other stat is derivative and only serves to give insight in how to increase the chances of an increase in the W stat.

I respectfully disagree.
In almost all sporting activities luck either plays no role at all or is too insignificant to determine the winner. We had a discussion regarding this in the past and no, Chael Sonnen didn't get unlucky when he lost to Anderson Silva. Nor did the soviet hockey team get unlucky vs. the US hockey team in miracle on the ice.
In baseball, luck can play a factor, to an extent - provided that the teams perform to such a similar level throughout the game to leave an opening for luck to factor in.
This iteration of MLB the show is however much much worse than that. The post game PCI analysis does show objectively which player performed better during their at-bats and the difference can be monumental.
In terms of how this game operates, I do consider it absolutely valid to at times state that the losing player factually and objectively deserved to win, much like my last RS opponent should have.
-
I was NOT talking about luck.
But since you brought it up if you acknowledge itâs existence then how are you saying it has no impact.
But anyway, my point, which you may just disagree with, is that deserves has no place in sports. Itâs the equivalent of coulda, shoulda, woulda. Or I almost won. The bottom line is figuring out how to outscore your opponent NOT squaring up more
Anyway the beauty of baseball for me is that it doesnât have as much a direct cause and effect outcome compared to other sports. Stuff happens.
